I was surprised. I thought Grienke would barely beat him out. All 3 were Cy worthy. Jake's celebration was pretty good. His friend popped champagne on him and his neighbors were honking while they were trying to interview him. Humble dude. Said he just needs to get back to work and get better for next year. I liked that. Most guys will say they will try to do it again next year. He wants to be better. Its just words but it is a mindset as well.

I'm just glad it didn't turn into another mumbo jumbo saber metric numbers game. This guy literally carried his team on his back right into the playoffs winning big game after big game. Simply put, without him....the Cubs don't get there. To me, that's the definition of a Cy Young winner.....actually it defines an MVP as well.

This award is awesome and the one I wanted most. Bryant was a lock, Maddon was pretty much a lock, but the Cy Young was gonna be close.

Now, too bad Rizzo didn't have just a little bit better of a season, or we could sweep all major awards. Maybe these voters are all Cubs fans.

I agree.

Remember that time when we traded Scott Feldman to get him and Strop.... that was a good time.

I get why the vote was close....but this is why it wasn't all that close in my mind

All three deserved it. I wouldn't have been angry if Jake hadn't gotten it because only one guy can get that award.

Congrats to Jake.

I figured all along that Jake's 2nd half was too good to deny it to him. Not surprised Grienke was a close 2nd, however. Congrats Jake. How about those Cubs!

ROY, manager of the year, and Cy Young. Arrow is pointing way up for the Cubbies.

second time it has happened in Chicago. White Sox did it in 1983 with Kittle, LaRussa, and Hoyt
