Ok. Living here in Atlanta, I was witness to how bad a HC coach this guy was. He was just fired for how dumb his play calling was, how poorly his personnel groupings were, how poorly he mismanaged the clock, timeouts, field position, went 2-6 against teams with losing records (they should not have lost these games), lost too many games they should not have due to squandering leads, slow starts, absolutely terrible QB development and play, etc., all the things we want to see improve from our own last HC and play caller.

Smith was calling jet sweeps with tiny WR's in the red zone, and almost always in shotgun in the red zone, too, like on 3rd and 1!

My Lord, just because he got the OC gig from Tomlin does NOT mean he knows what he's doing. He was a miserable play caller AND HC for the Falcons. Arthur Blank takes his sweet ol' time firing folks, and always is kind and diplomatic in his remarks when doing so, and he said he was "significantly disappointed" in Smith's leadership and the teams performance.

Haven't Poles and Warren done any homework?

There’s not a chance in the world they hire him.
A lot of these interviews are designed to gather information around the league.

Yeah Arthur Smith is a joke of a HC candidate. I wish we had real media so we knew who was really doing this.

My guess is it’s Warren cause Poles is definitely more of a “that’s my guy go get him” type of mentality. He did that with Flus and Caleb for better or worse.

Actually Flus was pushed on Poles over a more qualified Caldwell. Poles never conducted a HC search when he was brought on board, There was also something about having the same agent

You people are in for a long month overanalyzing every nothing burger. We haven't even reached the 2nd wave of interviews.

Bears are playing 4d checkers with you meatballs.

When they hire a middling dolt; they'll have plenty of candidates you'll be thankfully they didnt hire.....making the middling dolt seem like Bill Walsh.

Arthur Smith is where you guys draw the line for this process being a joke?

Bears and Jets are both going on 20+ interviews while having the 1st and 3rd most amount of time to figure out what they want. Like it's been said, we're the NFC Jets and Browns.

I said this two weeks ago. This isn’t the original thought you think it is.

Smith is another example of one who gets 2nd chances without being worthy

Arthur Smith lol

Yep. Pretty much NOT surprised to see this. Smith's offense was terrible in ATL. So too was his work with QB's, not the kind of track record one would think an organization with a promising youngster, drafted #1 overall, at QB would want overseeing his growth and development.
