Cabrera has been surprisingly decent at 3B. Reynolds is worse on defense statistically in everyway at 3B this season. If you want to make the argument that Reynolds has more range I might buy it, though the early numbers don't back it up, but Reynolds makes way more mistakes. He makes far more mistakes than the small difference in range between the two guys. There is a reason Reynolds has started barely half of the games he has played at 3B this season.

No one is saying that Miggy is good with the glove, and the fact that his bat is amazing means he could be pretty awful at 3B and still be a net positive to the team. The point is that Reynolds is more than likely worse than Cabrera at 3B, and while his bat is good it isn't in the same stratosphere as Cabrera's.
