Assuming we sign Boozer, how do you build around this core?

We've got roughly 30.5M in cap space. Lets assume we get Boozer for 14.5M. We have 16M left over.

PG-Rose
SG-W. Matthews 5M
SF-Deng
PF-Boozer
C-Noah
BENCH
6. Gibson
7. J Johnson
8. Travis Outlaw 4M
9. T Allen 4M
10. B Miller 2M
11. A Law
12.scrub
13. scrub

Of course theres a good chance that Matthews, Outlaw, Allen and Miller all could cost more than this but its just wishful thinking for an idea that will most likely become our unfortunate reality. Not the greatest lineup but i like the potential of Wes and i really like that bench.

You dont overpay Boozer. We're destined to finish 4th in the east anyway, so you might as well maintain flexibility. But now that James is going to the Knicks, Im sure Reinsdorf will try to put lipstick on a pig by overpaying for Boozer and expect us to be OK with it.

So you think we should stand pat and let Rose's talent go to waste with Taj Gibson?

I really dont care anymore. As long as Reinsdorf owns this team, its going to take severe luck for anything worthwhile to happen. Im too disgusted with the fact that Ive realized Reinsdorf is still probably making us pay for his stupid loyalty to Krause 12 and 13 years ago. Im also pretty disgusted with the idea that when Ive gone to games, Ive been lining his pockets.

I just cant get past the issue with Reinsdorf now and the fact that he should sell the team. The fans deserve better.

I love the other signings to fill out the roster but I don't like the idea of getting Boozer, HE CAN'T STAY HEALTHY, granted when he is healthy he is one of the best Post Up Players in the NBA but it is pretty much a guarantee he will miss at least 25-40 games

not only is Lee a little cheaper but he is more durable, 5 years $60 Million wouldn't be all that bad for a ALL STAR Center/PF

None of those other guys are going to come that cheap. Especially Outlaw, Miller, and Allen.

Duhon got roughly 4 a year. Outlaw will get more than that. Miller won't take the vets minimum. Rumor is the Celtics like him and he could easily get the MLE somewhere. Tony Allen will think he's as good if not better than Duhon so you might be in the neighborhood there but the other guys willbe much mroe expensive than that.

Our best hope is that we can move Deng somehow.

Heck I'm sure it would be really hard to pull off, but what about going after Boozer AND David Lee?

Trade Gibson for Anthony Morrow and your roster is set?

Idk, I just think I would rather sign 2 legitimate players who can put up 20 and 10, then get one player who can put up 20 and 10 and a bunch of other just MEDIOCRE players.

I don't know all the rules, but maybe we could trade them by allstar break to get other talent? I'm just trying to find a way to maximize the amount of talent, whether we plan on using it long-term, or plan on using it for trade chips in the future?

I'm sure it might be a problem of who is starting and what not, but heck they all got their paychecks, right?

PG: Derrick Rose
SG: Anthony Morrow
SF: Luol Deng
PF: Carlos Boozer // David Lee
C: Joakim Noah // David Lee

Fine play him at Center, he did it in NY.

I'm just looking at it this way:
we have 3 options:
1. Carlos Boozer and crap (just mediocre talent)
2. David Lee and crap (just mediocre talent)
3. Carlos Boozer and David Lee (2 guys who can put up 20ppg and 10rpg)

Why not treat Free Agency like the draft? go BPA

Again, all I am saying is I think it is smarter to grab the 2 best available players rather than grab one of them and other crap. I know it would be hard for one of them to be on the bench, but heck Noah wants to win, this gives your team the most amount of talent.

Rather than argueing who should be starting, I'd rather you argue of what gives you the most talent on the roster.

(I'm well aware the chances of this happenning are very minimal, but I'm just trying to look at it from a talent perspective)

IF (HUGE IF!) we did get David Lee AND Carlos Boozer you got
2 20ppg and 10rpg big men
1 20ppg and 7apg point guard
1 17ppg and 8rpg SF
45% from 3 point range shooting guard.

Doesn't sound too Turrible:turrible:

you're right. let's move a top 5 defensive center to the bench. good idea. the player who averaged the second most rebounds in the playoffs and the seventh most rebounds during the season DESPITE injury. nahhh

david lee is empty stats! he put up a 30-20-10 game and his team lost! reminds me of zach randolph. i want no part of him honestly. plus he has no low post game.

it's boozer or nothing for me.

I would love to get Morrow!!! BUT unfortunately I think the Warriors are fully aware of Morrow's potential and they will likely match what ever offer is made to him and then move Monta Ellis:(

but if we have three players who are good rebounders, obviously stats are gonna suffer. as well as points because only one of those three players can be the main scoring option and clearly that's derrick rose. so best case scenario with those three is to have

1 17 points and 8 rebounds PF
1 13 points and 6 rebounds PF
1 25 points and 8 assist PG

I'd love Mike Miller, Childress, or Morrow to be a Bull. But Morrow doesn't play defense and the Warriors can match any offer made to him...

And he got absolutely raped when he did. This guy cant defend PFs, let alone Cs. This is a horrible idea, no offense. We now have Taj on the bench, our PF depth is good. We still dont have a SG. Lets get one.

They can match it but how far are they willing to? I still like the idea of Wesley Matthews.
