I love the auctions , either going to them or on-line.
I have started many collections of things I purchased at auctions. ie,...vintage gumball machines, soda or farm thermometers, old signs and old butter churns. Also tractors , hay wagons , steel, wood, and fencing.
My latest buys from last week were an ATV with plow, a picnic table and table umbrella for our new property.
Tonight's ending on-line auction I'm looking at old maps and a jukebox. The wife buys pictures from home decor stores and i get so pissed, just buy a collectable and hang it . But that's how I roll.
The jukebox will be mine, .............if the price is right. O'h and p.s., nevermind

I prefer sales to auctions, where the owner of the goods is present. That way I can negotiate.

The family business is actually antiques and auctions. Me and my brother are the first to break the tradition of getting into the business. Never a fan. Interesting characters come through those places though.
