Time to look forward to the future of Chicagoland's BIGGEST STAR!
And it's not even deleted yet BROTHERThis will be the greatest year in B-HAWKS history. What an apt way to kick it off than a classic HHM thread!
Fantilli 19Which jersey should I get?
Bedard 98 or Trump 47?
I will count my chickens when they are chicken sandwiches!Thank you so much for this thread. Didn’t feel right posting in the wrong season thread!
But please don’t count your chickens before they hatch. My boy @Raskolnikov making a compelling argument for a Hershel walker type trade. Stay tuned
I wish the B-Hawks well this upcoming season except when they play the Vegas Golden Knights as I cannot root against my hometown team. I sadly will not be able to attend the parade tomorrow as it is going to be 100 degrees and I have to work til 4 pm. No way am I going that late to the strip to find parking.
That's awesome! It was beautiful at the parade, you should have gone!!!! I am still a BH fan first, but the Knights are fun and their fans are wild!!! I will send you some pics and vids I took while we were down there!!!!
Not happening. This is hockey, not football or an EA sports video game.Thank you so much for this thread. Didn’t feel right posting in the wrong season thread!

Very true. I would guess that the only sport with a smaller draft success rate is MLB. Once you are out of the first round in most years (this year might stretch through the second)....it's a damn crap shoot. Trading down in the NHL is almost never a wise move.....bulk lower round picks are a study in frustration. Do teams occasionally hit on low round gold, yes but the percentages are quite low. If KD has any smarts, he stays where he is with Bedard, #19 and whatever he can dig up in round 2. The quote below is dated and improved NHL scouting probably will upgrade the numbers a bit, but it gives you an idea. 200 games is less than 3 seasons. Not happening. This is hockey, not football or an EA sports video game.
The 'hawks reportedly have an uptick in season ticket requests, and fans have already bought Bedard sweaters. Business-wise, Rocky and Daniel will want Bedard for the marketing potential that Kane and Toews gave them.
The only way the 'hawks should even consider trading that pick out is if they get a ready-made deep cup run-level core with it. Not just a trade for McDavid; he's already proven he can't win it all with Draisaitl, much less on his own. If any team had that, they wouldn't trade it away; they'd be competing for the cup.
KD won't trade the pick if he wants to keep that job, and it doesn't matter how many clickbait blogger rejects spam the internet; it doens't change the fact that the 'hawks won't trade the pick without a ready-made core coming back, and any team with a ready made core won't trade it for a generational player.
Would the'hawks have traded their 2013 cup-winning core for McDavid? Of course not. That's what it should take to prise the 1OA pick out of KD's hands.
I've always wanted a Vancouver jersey.Which jersey should I get?
Bedard 98 or Trump 47?
I agree but I’m still entertained with what @Raskolnikov comes up with. Not happening. This is hockey, not football or an EA sports video game.

Exactly. I think the problem with a lot of newer fans is that they think that 1-2 players a step down would equal an überstar, especially in this draft.Very true. "The truth is that very few players taken in the NHL draft this weekend will ever play in the NHL. In order to get an accurate read of how many drafted players played at least 200 games in the NHL, a study by proicehockey.about.com looked at the drafts between 1990 and 1999. Of the 2,600 hundred players drafted just 494 or 19% played in at least 200 contests. 63% of first round picks played but less than 25% of second round picks survived and only 12% of third rounder selections. Former NHL general manager Doug MacLean said his math over the last decade showed that only 15% of second round picks ever become impact players."
There will be a lot of kids drafted that will have a far bigger chance at being an Uber driver than being an NHL Uber star.Exactly. I think the problem with a lot of newer fans is that they think that 1-2 players a step down would equal an überstar, especially in this draft.
Not to mention that a lot of the bloggers out there are following the typical yellow journalism in the rest of life by posting controversy over facts, and you know the public will click with trainwreck fascination when some under-rated blogger who may know hockey is a sport posts something completely out of the norm in the hockey world for clicks... Like Nashville trading all of their picks for the #1 overall.
The sad thing is... Hockey newbies believe it is remotely possible, even though it wouldn't even happen in an EA sports game.
I don't follow baseball too much, but I do agree that the draft is a crapshoot, even a deep one. It doesn't make any sense to trade down when a generational player falls into a team's lap, no matter how strong the rest of the draft is.
Bedard gets picked or KD gets fired. KD might trade out pick 19, but not pick 1.
THREAD STILL NOT DELETED !!!I agree but I’m still entertained with what @Raskolnikov comes up with.
