Someone has to fight over all that unincorporated territory. The bears and eagles and wolves have to be converted to baseball too.

I've seen this many times before. I love it. I do wonder where they got their data from to form it.

My wild-ass guesses would be a combination of fan surveys, Nielsen ratings and merchandise sales tracking.

Yeah I used this as a desktop for years in all honesty. It is a cool map even if I don't think it is terribly accurate.

nope. we are just fine in our own little world.

but I do wonder how many of the "cub fans" polled are actual "cub fans" and not wrigleyville bar fans.

I personally thought that the White Sox territory was way too small. As others have noted, this probably isn't exactly accurate, although you'd expect most of Iowa to be Cubs fans as denoted so at least some of it is based in reality.

Northern Indiana seems to be. The rest would seem to be split between the Cards/Sox/Reds/Cubs IMO.

I think NW Indiana is probably split down the middle in terms of Cubs and White Sox fans.

No way the Pirates & Nationals have that much territory. Marlins don't own the whole state of FL either since no one really gives a care about baseball down there. They should be SFL & that's it.
That Astro's territory has shrunk because of the Rangers. Half of that territory is now Rangers fans.
In reality, the Cubs should just have the USA as their territory. :smoke:

I can say as for Iowa the whole thing being cubs fans is pretty accurate. There are Cards, Twins, Royals fans... But not much else you see a white sox hat here and there but not very often. Most though are cubs fans no question.

I'm a Cubs fan because they are/were on WGN when I was growing up :dunno:

You guys dont have to defend your reasoning for becoming a Cubs fans, Dews is just jealous because he did not have the Testicular Fortitude to be a Cubs fan when he made the choice.:cubs::D

Every part of the White Sox's area that is outside of southern Chicago and the south burbs, is also part of the Cubs' area
