For some reason I find baseball attire less cringey, not sure why. Possibly because they have a (generally) less meatbally fan base and take it less seriously.
Still a little cringey though.
The only time I ever wore a jersey was out to watch a game or actually at a game. It's been years now, I prefer to just sit at home in front of gigantic screen and watch on DirecTV with beers, etc. Maybe throw a Bears hat on watching on the game. I will say, that I get a new wool winter's Bears hat every year, the same one they wear on the sideline, and wear that in the cold weather all winter outdoors. Yankee games just throw on a Yankee hat, which 98% of the stadium has on.
I will tell you what bothers me more. The younger crowd, which as a result probably of these weekly fantasy leagues have no allegiance to any team, and instead have favorite players scattered throughout the league. I have no 2nd favorite team, nor care about players on other teams. They actually go out and buy jerseys from players from various teams, and wear them out regularly even when football is not on. That seems really odd to me.
