Ratliff coming back from suspension is the only thing that makes me want to watch the game this week, esp. since Fox is set on trotting either an injured Jay Cutler or Clausen out there

I like McPhee. Very good player. But if we are building our defense around him...that's incredibly uninspiring.

They're building around McPhee by default. Because there is literally nobody else on the roster worth building around. Gotta start somewhere.

He's added toughness to our defense and next year they hopefully will bring in another pass rusher. A speed rusher would compliment McPhee greatly.
I still wonder if the Ray McDonald experiment ended up working out if the front office would have taken a swing at Aldon Smith.

lol at people who think this defense with time will be good. Whatever excuse you need so the Bears draft the Goffball and not actually improve the defense.

How do you know if he's out of position when you have zero idea of what the play call was and where he's designed to be in that play call?? Answer is you don't.

Well we don't know if their plan is to build around McPhee or not that's just the thought from this reporter. I'm sure Pace and Fox have a plan and knowing Fox over the years it starts with defense and running the ball. I'm thinking their gonna have their minds set on getting one of the top young free agent defensive players in free agency or that's what i'm hoping anyway.

i think its more than likely the bears will bring in another talented defensive player or two, possibly wilkerson as I dont expect ratliff to be back and that only leaves ego and jenkins, ego has been very ordinary thus far and may not win a starting job next season. A dline of Jenkins, Goldman and Wilkerson would be much improved and wilkerson has shown he can rush the passer and jenkins has already shown so far he's also improved that aspect of his game. Another guy may be Irvin as a 3-4 OLB, he would be an ideal complement to Mcphee on the outside.

Don't agree with this. Goldman is a rock in the middle. Sutton has been playing relatively well. I'd say Jarvis Jenkins is on the ascent. My concern with Ratliff returning is that they'll have him at NT, and honestly I'd rather see Ratliff at DE (yes, ahead of Ego Ferguson, for now) along with Jenkins with Goldman at NT.
