I saw him struggle in Baltimore at LT, he was better at RT, and the Ravens offered him very good RT money, and let him walk because he wanted play and be paid for Left Tackle.

KC has him at LT, but he wants to be paid like the BEST LT in the League and he is not...

I don't see the value, but I'm not a Pro scout, just a fan, but I would actually rather have Jones get a full off season of strength training and get the best Center money can buy.....

If the Bears were to bring him in and pay him the money, and only draft a late round pick to compete at Center, then I would honest view that as a step backwards....

Bottom line, I would not like it...

Not a fan, certainly not at premium dollars. Ride with Braxton and a veteran backup.
Braxton has given up 5 more sacks while having a less than a third of the pass protection snaps. Not saying your wrong. Just asking what’s your price is for not giving up sacks?

Think having a legit good NFL center would work wonders for the rest of the line. The guards could actually help the tackles more often rather than go "ohh shit" every time mustipher lets a guy slip through untouched.

So many times I've seen that happen on tape where Musty just lets a dude run untouched and Tev has to chase the guy down in hopes of avoiding a sack.

If they don’t feel Braxton is the future Id rather get Paris Jones or Skoronski

Also very likely you could trade down to the mid teens and get Paris. He was a top 5 HS prospect I believe, so the talent is very much there.

I think Braxton might actually be a better fit at RT considering how much better his run blocking is than his pass pro at this point.

If Poles stays true to his word, that's what he will do. Based on his introductory presser, he was big on building thru the draft in the trenches. Maybe it's just GM speak as they all seem to say that. Guess we will find out soon enough

Agree, I really hope that they spend FA money on a top notch 3T and a Center, both of which are likely to be available.

If Poles signed him to a huge deal I’d be very concerned about Poles going forward.

OBJ has given up 3 sacks and 40 pressures in 611 snaps while Braxton has given up 5 sacks and 33 pressures in 408 pass rush snaps. More importantly Brax has just 1 sack in the last 9 games. So really no reason to spend 20m on OBJ for that difference in production.

Could also sign OBJ to play right tackle when no one offers him $$ to play the left side.

Who am I kidding, some idiot will pay him big $$.

I hope the bears stay away from both Orlando Brown Jr and OBJ.

Don't replace Jones... only time he has really had a bad game, is against Top tier pass rushers. Not surprising of a 5th round rookie. Against more average NFL players and even some above Average ones, most of the game Jones wins those battles. Not all game long as I'm sure you can nit pick every game and show a play here and there he loses even to average players. Overall Jones is having a solid season and is out performing players drafted higher than him. Long story short RT and C are the biggest needs and those should be looked to be replaced first. If those spots were good, then I'd argue give Jones some comp, at least next season.

By the way, I would still sign someone who could start, if Jones has a sophomore slump. But right now unless his play falls off a cliff, I fully expect him to start next year with all the other holes this team has.

Give this man a cigar. You are absolutely right about what you said.
