It'd be a lateral move that CLE would have to allow. Bears can't afford nor should they give CLE anything to get a guy who'd rather be working for Chicago...his home town!


Also, Callahan is 65 but has ties with Eber if that matters?

Why would CLE have to allow it? The only positions that can't be denied interview for under contract coaches are HC and all coordinator positions.

I read somewhere that veteran assistant coaches sometimes only take year to year (ie - one year) deals.
