If the Packers make the playoffs they will be a 6 seed no doubt.

The Eagles will most likely win out so if the Bears lose either of the two final games they will most likely be the 3 seed.

If that is the case it would be Bears-Packers in the 1st rd right?

It would get massive ratings...And it would be only the second time the two have faced in a playoff game (The first being in 1941 to determine the division winner since both teams tied, the Bears won that game btw :smug2:)

But it would be a big game and the media would hype the shit out of it.

The Bears should just be the #2 team and not worry about the Pack (or whomever) until the 2nd week of postseason play.

Yeah, but the Bears will lose neither ... or both of their last 2 games. They won't split. (trust me on this one.) So it's not going to happen.

I wouldn't even care where it was played. I guarantee that game is high scoring and goes down to the very end. Im nervous just thinking about it! lol.

If the Bears got the #2..the earliest they would see the Packers is the NFC Championship. The Packers will not get higher than the #6..if they win they go to Atlanta.

That would be one hell of a game. The publicity alone would incite the rivalry to a whole other level. Its one of the many reasons I love this game, and Da Bears. However, Rodgers, when he returns to normal, might wanna watch lastnights game. Especially a DE named Wooten. Damnit we need cheerleaders! '2 4 6 8! Who do we decimate? 12! 12! 12!'

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
I don't think it happens. I see the Bears winning out and the Pack losing out.

Here's an interesting scenario that's highly unlikely, but still fun to think about.

Let's suppose you are Lovie Smith and it's week 17. Let's further suppose that, win or lose, the Bears are locked in to the 3rd seed, but the Packers have to beat the Bears to make the playoffs as the 6th seed.

Do you rest your starters, knowing that means that you will have to face the Packers a week later at Soldier Field in a must win playoff game? Or do you play your starters and try to win, risking injury and knowing that your starters won't have that extra week to rest up for, say, the Giants?

Suppose you play that game to win and Cutler or Urlacher gets hurt and the Packers win the game anyway? Now you have to play the Packers a week later and you are basically screwed!

What do you do?

Because the only way that scenario exists is that you lost to the Jets. You play your starters to win the game so you have something that isn't 2 losses and 1 bad kinda blow off game going into the playoffs.

Play the game. Injuries can happen at any time and its a risk each and every week. Tho not playing is a bonus, doesnt mean someone wouldnt go down in the 1st playoff game. And the morale boost of destroying the hopes for the Packers is to tempting to pass at the end of the day.
