Oh woweee, maybe now we know why they were so cagey about their contract lengths during the presser.
Bio info for GM Ryan Pace on ChicagoBears.com on Jan. 8 said this, according to the internet archives:
Ryan Pace, the 2018 Sporting News NFL Executive of the Year, is in his sixth season as general manager of the Chicago Bears in 2020. He is the sixth general manager in franchise history after being hired on January 8, 2015. On January 1, 2018, the Bears announced a three-year contract extension for Pace, keeping him with the club through 2021.
Now it says this:
Ryan Pace, the 2018 Sporting News NFL Executive of the Year, is in his seventh season as general manager of the Chicago Bears in 2021. He is the sixth general manager in franchise history after being hired on January 8, 2015.
I know that going into the season, it was reported that Nagy's contract took him through 2022. Did the Bears quietly extend Pace also through 2022 to line him up with Nagy?
