@JordanSigler in reality, the deal is a true win/win. I believe Warren influenced George to break all of his prior tendencies. In addition, Johnson and his team secured a contract that is fair for the top candidate in this cycle. Poles was given the authority to land his top target. Also, the Bears were able to score a huge PR win with their fans after a tumultuous, disappointing season.

Now, Poles and Johnson need to win to complete the equation.

Deals like this can change the narrative around the Bears and how they operate.

This but it indicates that the Bear didn't know that they had Johnson before Monday or when they brought in George to @run and shoot 's chagrin.

This isn’t going to make some people happy but it should. Hey, I felt Warren was an attention grabbing politician too. It turns out he’s creating a lot of change for the better at Halas Hall.

Anything that helps the Bears win and win consistently works for me.

The Bears made a PROFIT of $600 million last year. They are a franchise valued at more than $6 billion.

Yes, I’m sure they’re really gonna miss that couple of million extra on Johnson’s $13 million deal….

I'm a bit confused how Rick Smith outfoxed Warren here. Ben Johnson wanted the Bears, potentially even going back to last year. The Bears wanted Ben Johnson as their #1 HC candidate. The deal got done. Both sides seem happy with the deal and are full steam ahead in putting together the rest of the coaching staff. What's the issue?

I'm all for reigning down a shitstorm on incompetence. I'm also all for giving credit where credit is due.

I can't claim that Johnson is the right hire yet, but he is the sensible hire based on needs and direction of the franchise.

I don't care what the Bears paid him. HC hires are one of the few spots a franchise can flex its muscle without a cap. Warren/Poles did a good job on this one.

Now if they could only STOP using RAS as a Bible to draft their players this thing might finally go somewhere nice.

How about you stop being disingenuous and quote your 1st comment in that thread. Post #8
If Eddie George had any nuts/ integrity.....he'd have told the Bears to go do a sham / fake interview with someone else.
Let's look at your 2nd comment where you doubled down. Post #17 and way before you tried to walk it back.
Eddie George.......
Hi recruit.....I just took a fake NFL interview ( isn't that impressive) ....that's why u should play for TSU.

Doing / participating in something that's a sham and lacks integrity... is never "good for his brand"
If anything it shows a lack moral leadership. What's next.... possibly throwing / fixing a game
WOW!

That you're biased and disingenuous or simply too blind to your bias to stay on topic?
I always said I thought it was fine for both parties and that 3rd party indignation over an aware, willing participation is stupid and myopic.

You quote my post but remove your embarrassing content. Says a lot.
Oh, I didn't quote your weirdness so @run and shoot

LOL. I can see why you hold such a vaunted position here. Enjoy your private Idaho. It just pissed me off that a known Bears associate does them a solid and you imply he's tap dancing for his supper. WTF!
