I recently was watching old slam dunk contests on NBA TV and watched some on Youtube. Michael Jordan hands down the Best!!!! Dominique Wilkins he was close. But now it's a new era, new players, new NBA. I start thinking who is the best dunker now? I seen some Vince Carter Highlights he was sick ! Now he's old, Some say Lebron, Kobe, D-Wade I think Josh Smith is the best right now. Who do you Guys think ?

Kobe's problem is his small hands. That effects his ability to do some of the dunks like Jordan could do. Vince Carter maybe the GOAT. Between him and Jordan, its close. Now? I am still going with my man in Orlando Dwight Howard. Although lets see what Lebron brings to the dunk contest in Dallas.

is this for best dunker in the dunk contest or in actual games?

as far as dunk contest, right now imo its nate robinson. being that short and being able to do the things he does, outweighs what dwight howard does at his size. nate and howard are a great matchup though.

mj is GOAT. i can see why vince might be in the conversation for the title, but i think he only deserves mentioning, and not the title itself.

as for in-game dunkers, right now its probably lebron, but i was always impressed whenever shaq threw down, especially in his prime.

Forgot about Dominique, I remember in grammar school how fellow students were mad because they felt Dominique got robbed. He was really, really good. Should have been top 50, a travesty.

I think Darvin Ham was extremely under-rated as a dunker. When he was in the dunkoff several years ago he did completely spectacular dunks no one had ever done before and he was getting 30's. Then you have Brent Barry coming out and doing the free throw line 57 times and getting 50's everytime. So stupid.

From now on, they should enforce a rule that prohibits the free throw line dunk. Just get it out. Everyone has done the free throw line. Dr. j. Jordan. Pippen. Drexler. Dwight Howard. Brent Barry. We've seen it. That's enough.

And if anyone does the free throw line anymore (unless if it's a 360 from the free throw line or between the legs from the free throw line) you are disqualified from competition and have to leave.

Whose with me?

What about Kenny Sky Walker? That boy was throwing down some unbelievable stuffs.

But for the sake of the question "Best Dunker..." I'm going to say Vince Carter.

Sky Walker wasn't that great to me because he had to cup everything. He couldn't palm the ball at all.

Most overrated dunker of all time has to be Jason Richardson. How many times on a break away does he go for a windmill? every time. His act is old.

He really couldn't palm it? I didn't know that. Wasnt Sky like 6-9" or something like that? I'm 6-4" and can't palm it and thought that was bad. I know Steve Francis cant either but man...

Walker CRADLED it...being someone who can dunk i can say that cradling is increasingly harder (at least for me) than dunking with one hand.

Sky did a 360 cradle!

You sure you dont wish to ammend that comment?

And he definitely lost some cool points when he tried to do a 360 with LeBron right there...i cant dream how embarassing that had to have been.

He had nice moves but they would have been much nicer if he could palm the ball. Its just a better look, I don't know, cradling the basketball is like dancing with a limp, its just too noticeable.

But he cradled it with a 360...!

Okay...it's cool. I respect your opinion! :)
