What were the best sports moments in Chicago and Nationally during 2014?

Bulls - Seeing how dominate Butle has been for the Bulls
NBA - Lebron coming home letter
Hawks - Great start to the season with three great goaltenders
Bears - Forte showing everyone that he is an elite running back
NFL- Cowboys making playoffs with broken back Romo and busted finger Murray leading the charge
Cubs/Sox - Week of Winter Meetings turns into greatest week of Chicago Baseball for both sides in my life time
MLB - The dominance of Madison Bumgarner

NBA - LeBron going back to Cleveland

NFL - People actually thinking Tom Brady was finished and now considering NE a Super Bowl favorite

Cubs - The young guys having their breakout games was awesome, also signing Lester of course

MLB - Jeter's final at bat at Yankee stadium being a walk off single

Baseball - Probably the most enjoyable LLWS I can remember. Who didn't love the stories of Jackie Robinson West and Mo'ne Davis

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
'hawks: Hossa potting his 1000th point.
Bulls: Rose not being injured
Soldier field: The Stadium Series and the All Blacks/USA Rugby test match (hey, it's better than anything the Bears did--let's be honest).
Corneilison doing the anthem just about everywhere.
Soccer: the MLS Allstars *actually* beating Bayern Munich
'hawks again: 6 goals score for the 'hawks at the stadium series, 5 scored on the opposing goalie.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
NBA: Stern gone as commish.
Bulls: Gaining an offense.
NHL: Seeing how the big division shake-up actually pan out. Also, this may be the best TV season ever, with more games televised for us, after a lot of Special person TV contracts.
Hawks: Kane staying sober on the weekends in the season.
NFL: Seattle winning a SB, got a lot of love for those sports fans. Glad to see them actually win something. The team itself, I have some hate for LOL. Not the fans tho.
Bears: Longest record of hiring offensive geniuses with little to show.
Cubs: *insert newly hyped signings that are supposed to save the world + amazing talent in farmsystem* 2014 edition
Sox: Abreu ROTY
Fire: More games on Telemundo
Sky: WNBA Finals Appearance.

And I am not implying all Sox fans are idiots. But a vast majority are.

Guess it happens on both sides of town. I do remember the glee from some Cubs fans when Soriano was signed. Oh, and Fukudome

You really need to know more Sox fans if that is your opinion.

Well most that I know are fairly knowledgeable about their team... just Bearfanlike homerism and an unhealthy obsession for the suckage of the Cubs.

I just don't get the latter. I don't care whether the Sox win or lose, or go to the postseason etc... but all I see on FB and hear from sox fan friends is how shitty the Cubs did today.

I realized that Hockey actually involved some sort of a sport other than guys on ice skates kicking the shit out of each other
