What is the best way to become a ward of the state?

Bonus question, if not the US, where would a mental patient get the best imprisonment and what crime would get them there?

Asking this seriously because in the USA you can't have someone committed to an asylum.

Homelessness is not great in Chicago. I've read about good results living in Vegas tunnels for some folks but thats dodgy.

Does anyone have a good cult recommendation?

Be considered a danger to yourself and/or others without committing any criminal action that could get you imprisoned which is the far less favorable definition of "ward of the state".

Probably Iceland.

They have a small utopia going on there and the only regret I may have in this life is not moving there at 18 and marrying Bjork before she got signed to that first album deal.

Fuck being homeless in chicago. Well i mean you could pretend youre an illegal and sleep at a precinct floor at night and claim asylum.

I'd rather just live in a van and wash dishes for @DC - member to negotiate a free meal per shift too.
