My own reciepe taken and morphed from no doubt 1000s of others. I get requests for these all the time. I usually double the batch but if you're not sure and just want to try it, here it the single batch version. I enjoy the fresh cookies, but have a special affinity for freezing them and then dunking the cookies in milk.

1/2 cup butter (one stick)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
3.25 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 12 oz package of semi-sweet chips
2 eggs

Preheat yer oven to 375. Beat butter and oil with a mixer in a large bowl for 30-40 seconds and completely smooth. Add brown sugar, white sugar, salt and baking soda. Continue beating with mixer until super smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat some more until super smooth, once again. Add the flour a little at a time until you can no longer beat it with the mixer-usually around 2.5 cups in. Once the mixer is too hard to use, use a wooden spoon or whatever else you want to mix in the rest with the chocolate chips.

Bake for roughly 11 minutes and BAM you're in Heaven.
