Hard to announce trade for Mahomes when he still has a game tomorrow

Of course they will be. From Pace’s perspective he can then justify starting Foles week 1 and say he was in talks to get every available QB but price was too high and won’t mortgage their future draft picks. It’s just strategy in keeping his job while appearing to do the responsible thing.

Watson, Stafford, and Carr were the only 3 I thought worth seriously trading for. It’s time to focus moving up in the draft and getting that QB now.

How can they justify taking another scrub from the Eagles or another sunk cost from the Raiders? I forgot that Carr will want another contract.

Bears should just sit this one out and take the L. Or figure something out draft day.

I don't see the point in trading a 1st round pick for any QB other than Watson which takes multiple. The other QBs are good but I don't see winning a Superbowl with any of them without a stacked team. None of them are elite level QBs that can carry a mid level team. So you might as well use your 1st round picks for that QB in hopes that the upside turns into an elite level QB. The Rams on the other hand traded two firsts for Stafford because they think they have a Championship level team and that window is closing. Colts feel the same way so they can afford to make that type of trade. The Bears in 2018 might have been in position to make that trade. Now though, we are kinda in a position of either going all in for an elite QB or rebuilding.

This calls for a kicking competition style, 10 man cast off, UDFA, Div III QB cage match.

Remember: A half hour later, Nagy blew his whistle, but not to signal the end of practice. He called up Fry for a 43-yard attempt with the full field goal unit in place. The symbolism didn’t require an explanation. To layer additional pressure, the loud music that played throughout the day stopped and no one spoke. The effect was an eerie stillness Nagy dubbed Augusta silence, an idea he’d picked up watching the Masters.

Fry missed. He walked back to the sideline, and Nagy carried on with practice. A few minutes later, he asked all the kickers to line up at the 50-yard line: four on the right hash, four on the left. (Kjellsten, the kicker/punter, punted and held for field goals but did not take any kicks the first day.) They each attempted a series of field goals, again, from 43.

They went in numerical order. Blewitt missed. Bednarski missed. Jones missed. Carpenter missed. Ultimately, the group went a combined 2-for-8 from what Evans referred to as, “the Parkey Spot.”

Line them up at the 20 and see which one can throw bubble screens the most accurately and there Nagy has his man!

For some reason, when I read the token "stating the obvious" Brad Biggs articles my mind tends to wondering to places I find a little uncomfortable. For instance, we are in the year 2021. Isn't it a little sexist to just think about doing belly shots on a well toned, petite female body laying on the floor? Besides, you really can only fit about a 1/4 shot in that small of button hole. If your goal is to catch a little buzz, it gets a little monotonous drinking 1/4 ounce belly shots at a time. Anyone ever think about the volume of a Brad Biggs belly shot? I'm no expert but I have to think you could fit at least a shooter in there. Once you get your mind past the thought of actually doing a belly shot off of Biggs you have to realize the level of efficiency you would be able to obtain with this concept. Sorry about the visualization, for some reason I felt the need to share thoughts about this article.

I love how haters spin the “we will explore every option to find a good QB” and translate it to mean they are desperate...

Nagy and Pace just got almost-fired to the point ownership had to run a press conference justifying their continued existence within the walls of Halas Hall. THAT translates to they are desperate to find a QB to save their asses.

That being said, every link to a QB whether Carr or Wentz or Winston or (lol) Watson is being fed to media to speculate on what the Bears would "look like" and how they would "improve" with this QB X and that QB Y to gauge fan reactions and inform the never-ending spin machines to assure continued fan loyalty.

They will GLADLY take 8-8 every year if they need only work on some offseason PR to keep a percentage of the fanbase happy. You seem to be one of that %.

On a related note, I heard they are calling and surveying season ticket holders and are getting roasted by the fans for the shit product this year and the utter lack of ACCOUNTABILITY for what happened

I am grateful to those who gave it to the Bears but I fear the corporate sales of boxes overwhelm the money from regular working people.

And of course there are always a slew of dumbass defenders of the organization that shill for what they do without even getting compensated @Visionman

The Bears' inability to draft and develop a QB makes me doubtful that trading for any QB short of a HOF one will turn out any better than how Cutler turned out. The same thing preventing them from drafting/developing their own QB in-house is what will prevent them from succeeding with one they get in free agency.

Probably a little. Their desperation is more out of if they find a good qb they may be in a championship window. Bears desperation is to avoid getting fired.
So was Rivers not a good QB? Is Wentz going to be better?

They thought rivers would be good. He wasn't really. As of right now they have no qb and a really good roster outside of that though. I understand them reaching for someone like Wentz that they believe their roster can help regain his form
