I had a discussion over the weekend involving Billy Reay and I do not recall any recent discussions of him on here. I thought it would be great to share some old timers stories about him. For those of you newer to world of Blackhawks fandom, here are some basic facts. Any old pictures with him, discussions, etc?

I will see where this thread goes to and I may be inclined to share some personal history of him along with other information shared with me.

You can put me in the douchebag group of not really having any idea who he is. Interesting pages though.

To me Billy Reay will always be "THE COACH" because he was always behind the bench as I was a child watching on WGN in the 1970's.Then I went through a period where there was no hockey of any kind on TV (SEEMED LIKE FOREVER!) from about 1976 to 1980 so that image if him in his Fedora would be my image of the Hawks bench is "frozen in memory" for me. Then finally Hawks games got back on my TV on my TV on NHL Center Ice in about 1990ish. (We had no option to buy SportsChannel in Michigan.)

Dennis would have been about 16 when this picture was taken (give or take a few years)
Yeah it looked too old, but that goofy shit eating grin just reminds me of him.

D was 80's. This picture was taken in 70's. Funny that it contains two people who would be terminated from their jobs in as shitty a way as you can be, neither knowing at the time that they would have that in common. LOL

Ohhhhhh, the irony.

I pulled that picture off of Ebay. Since Korol and Mulvey will be in Rockford for the alumni game, I may have to purchase one. Let's see, who else is in that picture that is still involved in hockey....... how to get that signature.
