Just got finished watching the game and I think the Hawks are gonna do it 5.

The won the shootout in Game 1. Won the defensive battle tonight. Philly couldn't beat them either way.

Antti Niemi was a stud, especially in the 3rd period.

The Hawks won both games at home without Kane or Toews recording a point. If you told me that before the series I would have thought they would lose one the first two. But they still won.

Now they go on the road, where they've won 7 straight. Hawks are really looking good right now. I'm ready for another Chicago championship.

That game was more like it.

Big Buff finally getting on the board tonight.

Hopefully they can go up 5 goals and then let Buff start beating Pronger to within an inch of his life.

BTW, that hit in the 2nd period Big Buff laid on Pronger tonight was awesome. Been waiting for that all series.

I can understand how people aren't into the Hawks.

1, hockey just doesn't appeal to everyone. And 2, prior to Rocky Wirtz taking over, Hawks fans were pissed on for about 10-12 years.

The had the worst ownership in sports and even hardcore Blackhawks fans turned away from the team.

It's been an amazing turnaround.

That was most people's sentiments at the beginning of the year as I tried to get some Hawks talk goin on here to no avail.

But once the experts started saying they were the front runnners to win the cup, bandwagoners came in droves, which hey atleast they are enjoying the game & supporting their hometown team even if they have no clue what a handpass is or icing is. If anything, winning the cup should get more Chicagoans back into the sport hopefully.

Kush makes good points about why alot people could've cared less til about May. The Hawks were the laughing stock of the NHL for nearly a decade. They were worse than the Bulls, which was hard to imagine. Add on top of that the fact that Dollar Bill Wirtz couldn't have given two shits about the fans, constantly raising ticket prices, not allowing home games to be televised, plus he ran Bobby Hull out of town, not to mention was responsible for Belfour, Hasek, Savard, & Roenick being traded. I honestly stopped paying attention from 2000 til the 07 season, after Dollar Bill finally croaked & his son allowed games to be televised again & got the team back on the right track.

I´m a Ducks fan, so I had my fun in 2007.

But I hope for the city of Chicago that the Hawks will make it.

The Nine Steps to the Greatest Chicago Sports Summer Ever for me:

1. Hawks Win the Stanley Cup.
2. Bulls Sign LeBron.
3. Bulls Trade Deng in a Sign and Trade for Bosh.
4. Bulls Trade Hinrich to Dunkin for some donuts.
5. Bulls Hire Tom Izzo as an assistant coach for 10 million a year just to spite the Cavs.
6. Bulls Demote Neil Funk to bathroom attendant in the 300 level.
7. Bulls tear down Krause Banner and put it on the 300 level bathroom floor.
8. Cubs turn it around for a World Series run.
9. Sox continue to suck, finish with a MLB Record 68 game losing streak.

You can cross off number 1. Congrats Hawks. Class organization, class team.

"The most special thing is to be on two special teams like that, but nothing compares to grinding every single day and every single week with a group of these guys for the city of Chicago." - Jonathan Toews

It's been 18 long years since my heart was broken by Roenick & Co., I'm enjoying this championship like I'm still that 12 yr old boy. Everyone be prepared for years of greatness from the Hawks, this is just the beginning.
