Great to see! I asume he'll play in Rockford, but they might have a pile-up of Dmen next year.

Well at least they didn't lose him and get nothing.

Oh, hell yeah. They need dmen, the more options you throw out there the better the chance of finding some guys who are NHL players.

Mitchell will wear an A when Keith retires, he is that good, so I guess we needed a new thread for this signing.

This is the kid that will turn the D around and eventually replace 65 year old Duncan Keith in ice time.

Its good the Hawks were able to sign Mitchell. He seems like he has all the intangibles to help this defence. Keith days are coming to an end, now it’s certainly not likely Mitchell will ever be Keith, but he does have good leadership to along with his skill set.

If the Hawks get another top10 pick in this years draft there are 3 very dependable defencemen on the board that can help this teams decor in a few seasons.
Its a deep draft this season Hawks need to cash in on a few hidden gems, I also have heard through speculation and speculation only, Big Buff May come back to Chicago on a cheap deal.

No, no, no.

No more Bowman charity cases for old Blackhawk players.....I loved Buff when he was here but that was 10 years ago. He's 35 now and a shadow of what he was at 25. If you're gonna rebuild....then rebuild. Don't clutter up the roster with "past their prime" players that are on their way out of the NHL.

Sort of agree. Not a single ex Blackhawk signing/trade acquisition has paid dividends. Campbell, Versteeg, Ladd, Sharpe and the most recent Shaw (concussion?) all were meh and will just take valuable icetime away from the kids.

On a side note Blackhawks have some good goalie prospects up and coming as well which means Crawford needs to go....
