No.

Only 1 I see leaving is Hammer...

Nobody will take Campbell or Bolland without giving us a shitty contract back which will leave us in the same position

Yes, we need to seriously realize this because you know management doesn't already.

Bowman, McD and everyone... they're all new to this. None of them were around for last year's enormous cap shedding disaster and they're all clueless as to what they're doing. They gave Seabrook a fat contract without having ANY plans on how they're going to survive next year. They're splashing cash around without any concern for tomorrow and beyond.

You are right. I think we should all write letters to the team letting them know our concerns. I mean they probably don't have anyone on the payroll that thinks about cap space. Meanwhile, all of us are brilliant mathematicians who know hockey better than anyone currently employed by the Hawks.

Good call.

Il comment on this post when we announce our amazing 2011/2012 roster that will be very predictable.

side note* there are GM's and owners that completly screw up their franchises with bad contracts, bad trades etc.....stuff that fans knew ahead of time would not work out. so it does happen

See, I think that's the fair thing to do (well, minus your sarcasm).

Oh, and I expect that next season's team will be more talented and it will reflect in the standings compared to this season. There will be some fat trimmed.

To be fair, your topic was nothing more than a single twitter post stating the Blackhawks current financial status. Current as in there's still a lot of time before next years salary cap can be tallied up (read: there are moves to be made... duh)

Look past the sarcastic business from my post and my point is real. The guys that just gave out a lot of money to Seabrook are the exact same guys that just had to dismantle a truly great team due to salary cap issues. There's at least one proven, brilliant hockey mind in the main office of the Hawks. They know what they're doing.

George McPhee had a great quote during the HBO 24/7 series last year. I don't remember the exact words, but he essentially said that there are a lot of hockey experts that will tell you all the right moves a team should make, but at the end of the day- those people aren't in any way associated with the game and they're not there for a reason.
