Also, tied with Detroit with most OTL with 10. I'm so sick of this team crumbling down in shootouts and overtime, let's try to win these games in regulation from now on.

edit: Before someone says, I know this means not a lot of regulation losses which is a good thing. I'm just frustrated haha

Actually I'd argue that losing in a skill competition is better than losing straight out. Like I said, I'm on autopilot with this team until April.

I'm worried about their so-so defense and goaltending.

Seems as if they can't win a game unless they score four or more goals.

Same worries, but I've been encouraged by Crawford's play since he returned from his injury. Much, much better.

I not so much their goaltending..I think Crawford and Raanta will continue to play well...but their defense is bad at times especially on the PK.

This team can't win any of these close games at this point...they win only with 4,5, or 6 goals. I don't know if this team can get out of the conference this year :(

Poised for back-to-back first round exits... followed by a work stoppage and then a Stanley Cup.

While I don't think the defense has played to the ability that everyone was hoping, I still wouldn't worry. Same group as last year and only player who would be on the decline is Rozsival. Stanley Cup hangover (as slight as it may be) + an actual full season, could have a little to do with it. Have to think that come playoffs (or closer to the end of the season), these players will buckle down and play to the best of their abilities.

Honestly, I think fans are just getting spoiled with winning. Not a bad thing because that means it isn't the early/mid 2000's when losing was expected, but realize that ten game winning streaks aren't really a normal thing. There are going to be bumps in the road. The Blackhawks are 4-1-5 in their last 10. Not great, but really nothing to jump off the ledge about. They are slumping a little right now, and if they can go 4-1-5 while not playing their best hockey, I think they'll be okay. The West is going to be a ***** once playoffs roll around and there are plenty of teams positioning themselves for a long playoff run...the Blackhawks are one of them at the current time.

Even when we were on the streak to start the year last year we had Hawk fans bitching on the ledge about fucking face offs.... lol it don't matter what this team does, some Hawk fans will just *****.

I was one of those fans. Amazingly, this year Kruger has become pretty impressive at the face off dot (smart move by management with Yanic Perreault potentially paying off). My point last year was that there is always room for improvement, no matter how well the team is doing. They addressed it at the time with Handzus.

Enjoy the winning. A lot of fans around here had to wait pretty long to see a quality team on the ice. This team definitely has its flaws, and they aren't as strong as last years team, but they have as good of a chance as any to win it all (at the current moment).

Postseason will be tougher this year no doubt with the Blues and Avs in the division. Then the Ducks, Sharks, and Kings are contenders as well. And that's just in the West. We probably only have to beat 2 of those teams though.

The Ducks and Blues are real tough matchups for this Hawk team, other than some championship experience, they don't appear to have much of an advantage anywhere vs those two. As for the others....the Sharks always figure out a way to lose in the playoffs, the Kings still having trouble finding the back of the net and the Avs are shit. Don't be fooled by that last game, their goalie won't keep saving their overrated asses.

I know you were, I remember.... and its all well and good to talk about where the team can improve.

However, I remember it being discussed as though the Hawks were on a 10 game losing streak because of faceoffs, when in fact they were on a 10+ game winning streak.

There were people, and I cannot point fingers here.... I know them IRL.... who were bitching about the Hawks as they were winning the godamn Cup last year.

At some point you gotta stfu and enjoy your team.... as they win the Stanley Cup would be a bare minimum lol

There isn't a better team in Chicago and they're currently one of the best-organized franchises in all of sports, set up well for several years of contention. If people can't enjoy this, then I don't know why they watch sports.

Blues are going to be one hell of a team to get past come playoff time. That team is built for the playoffs. All around scoring, great defense, and two solid goaltenders depending on who is hot going into the playoffs.

Ducks just don't do it for me right now. A very solid team and would still be real tough to get by, but they rely on one line (getz/perry) too much in my opinion. Will work in the regular season but come playoff time I think they get shutdown a little easier (still tough, but focus grows come playoffs).

Regular season is important, let's all not kid ourselves on that. I too am looking ahead to the playoffs (hell, Blackhawks have now played 1 more game already than last year's regular season so it is sort of "dragging" on at this point I suppose). It is important that this team positions itself in an ideal position and home ice advantage is still that...an advantage. This team is built for now and the future, it is pretty exciting but winning the Stanley Cup is still one of the toughest things to do in all of sports.

Really looking forward to that inevitable Hawks/Blues series.

Remember how much you used to hate the Canucks? I think it's going to be even more intense with St. Louis.
