Who else is pissed? I don't care if he has no knees or could only give us two seasons cause of his knees, he would have toughened us. Lets vent.

I wish we would have taken Carroll at 26th. Carroll and Blair were 1 and 2 on my draft board at that point. Carroll obviously went with the very next pick, and Blair fell pretty far after that.

Blair has to have some really bad knees for so many teams to pass on him, even quite a bit into the second round.

Earlier in the week it looked like Blair might not be there at 16, you have to wonder why everyone was scared off late.

There seems to be one PF in every draft who is underrated because of their size, Blair looks to be it this time around (assuming he's healthy).

I will say this..

I believe the guys who watch workouts and know the insides and outs about players know more than we do.

With that said, I cant remember one instance where a fan's choice drops - bigtime, and still evens up being a decent player.

Honestly I cant remember one time.

It happens every year and we say...WOW how could we pass on this guy! He is in all the mocks etc.

But I would say 95% of the time, the guy really does end up being trash.

In recent memory.

- Marcus Williams
- Maciel Lampe
- James White
- Romain Sato

jury still out on CDR and Deadre Jordan...

etc

I mean yes if you pass on a guy and he ends up being good, more power to him. But it happens.

There is always a second round stud in every draft and most of the time, its not the one who fans expect either.

Rashard Lewis, Gilbert Arenas, and Carlos Boozer are some recent examples.

You have to look at the matches if we continue to climb up the East where will have to advently face the Magic and Gibson would be solid guy to guard their perimeter play

Teams just felt well if that team is passing on him those knees must be bad and the next team did the same and so on. Spurs just got a beast.

You can't really knock the teams who passed on a guy who is undersized, has weight issues, and apparently has no acls, I repeat he has no acls. Maybe that won't effect him but for all we anyone knows it could end his career before it begins. With all of that other stuff going against him I'm not surprised teams passed on him and including us and I'm certainly not upset that we didn't take him.

I am mostly pissed because it was the 26th pick. Sure, at 16 maybe you don't want to take that risk on him, but at 26 you don't have a whole lot to lose and at least potential. And now the Spurs pick him...the Spurs who have good luck finding quality guys late in the draft. They might have picked up a gem. We pretty much know we got a dud straight away. I guess we can thank management for removing any question of having a decent guy at 26th. Less disappointment later on. Bravo!

Really though, we picked Taj Gibson, this guy will not play more than 5 min in a game once the whole season, we could of at least gone with Budinger or Ellington i mean seriously TAJ? this guy wont be in the league long at all and we had the draft slippers fall right in our lap and we pass on them because of health problems? Do they not understand at pick 26 it is rare to find someone to contribute might as well take the risk on someone who could help us a lot when healthy

What makes you think DeJuan would have played or contributed when he was at least behind Tyrus, Noah (plays the 4 when he and Miller play together), and James Johnson? To me drafting a guy who can only play a position where he would be behind 3 guys wasn't a good idea no matter who we took.

I will say I wanted a backup PG or SG, so to me drafting a forward didn't make alot of sense but at least Taj can play more than one position, so somehow he might get in as he is likely the 4th option at 2 positions as opposed to Blair who would have been the 4th option at one position, so I definitely understand the logic to go with Gibson.
