A friend of mine is the #1 bloodhound breeder in the country. His dogs win most of the major shows. He also trains them for man hunting. Tomorrow I'm going to help him lay down trails to train 2 of them to track in a populated area. We're starting at a Farm and Fleet parking lot, crossing a road to a small airport and then crossing a field to several more places of business. Then we take them to a large park and see if they pick up his scent. The dogs won't start tracking until 18 hours after we lay the trails. This will be fun.

I farted in Target yesterday and four people turned around.
Felt like I was on The Voice.

I wonder if farting might throw them off the scent?

That was fun. Trail went from Farm and Fleet down the road to an airport and on to a factory. Then we went to a park/fairgrounds.

Very cool! To make the trail, did they just have someone walk the path or leave other clues/scents too?

My buddy walked it and he will be waiting at the end for the dogs to find him.

Cool stuff. I'd love to see a tracking like that. It's fascinating how acute their noses are.

So, how did the bloodhound do some 18 hours later? Can't just abandon the thread with a cliffhanger.

All 4 dogs found him. They ran them on 2nd trail 5 hours later. Same results.
