Thibeadou: Blowgans is a good defender versus premiere players/scorers

That made me laugh alot, and then Tom also stated that all 13 guys on the team are valuable or some shit, and that really killed me. Where's JJ then? Young talent and durability not used. I love the way Tom lies. Fire that piece of shit

Why do you have such a love for a player (James Johnson) that can not get to help side, defend a pick and roll, shoot, or dribble exceptionally well....? All those things are FUNDAMENTALS of the game....

I mean, he's athletic and has flashy glimpses of his athleticism.....ok....but what good does that do you in basketball when you can't CONSISTENTLY do the "NBA equivalent" of walk and chew bubblegum at the same time?

I don't have love for him. He's not the best player and he's certainly not an amazing player, but why is Bogans getting minutes over James? We drafted James for a reason, I know Johnson isn't that amazing, but Bogans is not even close to good or OK, so why is he playing?

Because this is a Tom Thibs coached team, and he preaches defense.

Bogans brings more to the table, defensively, than James Johnson brings to the table, offensively. And Johnson brings NOTHING defensively. There's your answer.

If this is a Mark D'Antoni team...we are probably SCREAMING right now "Why doesn't Bogans play?! Johnson doesn't bring much offensively, and what he does bring is nothing that Bogans can't do! Plus Bogans plays defense!"

We need some kind of magical fairy dust to make JJ better.

The traditional approaches, of giving a player quality minutes seems to be too "old school" for Thibs to try it.

Sure, he gets garbage time every so often. I guess if play garbage time, you should be able to improve your skills. Heck, we did give him one game with quality minutes this season and he just happened to bring us back and win us the game.

Bogans had a breakout game. ONE game. Even CJ Watson had like 15 solid games, and he even won 1 for us.

Well, here's how it goes. If the FO says their gonna trade him...Thibs will have to deal with it. Plus....I still think they wanna dump the guy anyway lol. Latrell Sprewell is more useful than Blogans right now & Spre' ain't even in the league anymore!

JJ doesn't play the same position as Bogans, it's not like JJ would be playing if Bogans wasn't.

JJ not playing is a good sign, it shows we're not going to throw good money (playing time) after bad (draft pick bust). Too many teams keep playing their picks in the hope they'll become something instead of just accepting they didn't work out and moving on.

bogans doesn't bring more to the table than JJ. JJ won 2/3 games. bogans is doing his best to consistently loose every game. At least JJ is a gamble. he presents the bulls with the opportunity to win a game. Bogans consistently sucks.
JJ is the only sf i know that averages 2 blocks a game. he has no offensive clue whatsoever, but JJ is a defensive player. there's just no minutes for him.

JJ brings nothing offensively.

more than that, bogans defense sucks. he makes bad fouls. he doesn't really get any steals. he doesn't block. he doesn't rebound well. what exactly does he do on the defensive end that merits him being on the floor? If he isn't doing something really worthwhile, there's no reason to suffer his offensive 'abilities'. Brewer is a good defensive player. he's really better than bogans in every facet.

jj isn't on the floor because we have deng, korver and brewer. i'm not sure why bogans is on the floor.

Thibs...we love you...but you're killing us by keeping Bogans in the rotation.

Anybody feel like this is Thib's "downside". He seems to have the Lovie mentality that he's going to stick with his guy (Rex Grossman).

Just a thought.

I just think Thibs sees things differently. I don't know how stubborn he is being. He only played Korver 4 minutes...he must have been pissed at Korver's defense. Rose has stated that Thibs doesn't give a damn about what they do offensively. I might be wrong about that but I think Thibs looks at Bogans as a better defensive option and likes Brewer's role as it is now. Starting Korver is not in the plans as far as Thibs is concerned...

I'm just speaking off the top of my head here, so I have no idea if this makes sense. Maybe Thibs is just afraid to play Bogans with the 2nd unit. Maybe he feels like the starters can "carry" him better. I'm sure he likes Brewer's and Korver's productivity off the bench.

The thing is, don't the Bulls have enough depth that they are able to not play Bogans at all? He's hurting the team wherever he's being played.

It still doesn't make sense.

yeah, i'm going with the not making sense. you could work out the roster so bogan's isn't playing.

rose -35 mpg watson - 13 mpg
brewer 30 mpg -watson -10 korver 8
deng 30mpg korver - 13 mpg bogans/jj/brewer 5
boozer 30 mpg taj-12mpg deng - 5mpg
kurt-20 taj- 18 mpg asik -10 mpg

bogans really doesn't have to play. If thibs likes brewer so god damn much with bench, he doesn't have to leave him on the bench. Instead here's an idea. Start brewer, rose, and deng. Bring in the bench a little early. leave brewer out wiht the bench for a while. Take him out when you're ready to sub another starter in.

Believe, me we have enough depth to play without Bogans. Play Brewer, Korver, and Watson more. Watson's barely playing as is and Korver's barely gotten any playing time lately (granted, he's struggling). It's clear that Brewer is the best of the 3 and should be starting. Bogans has played worse than Korver (though some games Korver's played worse, which is saying something) and Watson since at least one of those two can make a wide open 3 pointer. If we brought Korver's minutes up and maybe played Watson more at the 2, we could also lower Deng's minutes. I think that's a win all around. And if we stopped pretending Korver was Rip Hamilton, maybe even more so.
