Sources on ESPN say that Bogans as well as other players will be practicing with the Bulls on their first practice. This could mean Bogans will be back?

I hope he comes back. I don't want him to start, but I do want him on the team.

Bogans was never a free agent.

IDK where the rumor started about him not being signed for 2011-12. The only truth to the matter was the Bulls being able to cut him without any cap penalty, because he isn't guaranteed. The same is true for Pargo and Lucas3.

The Bulls have the choice to pick up his option, him going to practice shows that they might still want him on the team. Nobody said he was a free agent.

**** yeah this is good. Players like Bogans who is getting paid $1.7m regardless of when he plays and and what his role will be, is a bad thing, how?

He never had an option. Some bonehead writer misunderstood the contract structure somewhere, spread bad information, and everyone who doesn't understand the rules started thinking he wasn't on the books or there was an option to pickup. A non-guaranteed contract and a team/player option have a significant difference. A non-guaranteed player can be dropped before the cutoff(whenever that is this year, it's usually the second Tuesday of December in non-lockout years) without any penalty to the team. This only counts on contracts for players that have signed specifically with the knowledge of the second year not being guaranteed. It's not a 1+1, because the player has played in the league for more than 5 seasons(unless that has changed with the new CBA.)

I'm pretty sure most people either don't want Bogans or don't mind having him.. but just don't want him playing much.

Most likely. They can still cut him, but I have no idea when the deadline is for non-guaranteed contracts.

Rose loves Bogans, not just because he's a loyal teammate. Thibs loves him too, and the whole team thinks that he makes the Bulls, better. I wouldn't hold my breath on watching him go.

That $1.7m is valuable. Either it's a great contract for us, or it makes him a great trade chip. Keith is a respected player outside of the immature side of the Bulls fan base.

I don't see any reason why the Bulls won't keep him. Blah blah blah that 1 million can be used to make an offer to a player...yeah...one million is gonna make a difference.

And we're not signing anyone anyway, so whatever...

The Bulls havent said if they are keeping him or not

The only doubt is whether or not he lost motion after surgery. Remember, he played on a tear in his knee from January until the end of the post-season.
