Per ESPN Chicago's Nick Friedell:"A championship," he told ESPNChicago.com on Wednesday night after a Nike House of Hoops event. "I think a realistic goal for us is a championship. I think anything shorter than that we're setting ourselves up to...

One thing that can never be faulted by an athlete is their drive for success. Boozer is doing just that. It can't not be respected. I don't view him as being out of line with this. He could be on another team that has good talent around & I believe he will still say something like that. It's only motivation for himself & his teammates.

I like what he said, but I'm still wanting expectations to stay low.

I'm happy with big goals, but I'm just as happy to have them kept behind closed doors...

Of course it's a realistic goal. I like the Bulls chances against anyone but the Heat in the East come play-off time. We're probably a trade or two away from being true contenders.

Well, that's the right attitude, so I won't complain. I mean, what's he going to say? "We're not good enough to beat Miami or Boston or LA"? No! This is the right attitude, and while the expectation may be there and ultimately be disappointed, it's better than mediocrity.

I think anybody that doesn't set their goal at winning a championship needs to get off the court. Is it realistic? Yes. Is it likely? No, but it's not "likely" that any team will win the Championship. It is more likely for some teams than others, and I think there are 3 to 5 teams right now that have a better chance than the Bulls of winning it all. But it's a long season, injuries happen, and players play below or above expectations.

We'll see how it plays out.

i agree, any player that doesn't have his eyes set on winning a ship shouldn't be playing ball.

that is the reason why they play the game. to be a champ.

With all this good talk though ingeneral as a spectator or even a player talking good fortunes like Boozer......God I love being a Bulls fan.

Chi-town is gonna enjoy these home games this season. Almost wish I could go & see the games myself.

It is good that he comes out and sets his goal for him and the team. Boozer is going to be great. But really he could'nt come out and say "Im happy to just make the playoffs". As this team is the future.

At Boozer's age, he needs to be thinking about rings now. I don't think he signed on to just make the playoffs.

Yeah of couse, Boozer needs to aim for the championship. What I was saying was if he came and said he is just happy just to make the playoffs it wouldnt be the best thing to say as this team is going to be around for next 2-3 years. Unless Melo becomes a realistic target.
