He may not be overall as good as Bosh but from a need standpoint and from a fit standpoint, he really does fit the bill.

He had/has the best back to the basket game out of the rest.
He's the best rebounder, despite being undersized.
He's a good passer and will look nice with Noah/Miller(if resigned) in the high-low game.
He gets better in the playoffs, just like Rose and Noah. He brings his game to another level in the post-season. He's also efficient scoring.
He's tough and a hard worker and he wants to win.

Overall his talent, drive, confidence and toughness fits perfectly with this group of players. Would i have liked Bosh? Yes. Am i upset we didnt get Wade or LeBron? Yes. But i love this addition to our team. It by now means puts us over the top but its a big step in the right direction. I also like that Boozer greeted every reporter when they introduced themselves. I know he has been known to be about the money but the Nets were willing to match our offer and most likely pay more for him. This guy wants to be here and he's first class. Fits right in.

I like him better than Bosh. He's a better rebounder. Bosh is good but his value was elevated by the fact that James and Wade were his groupies. If I look at the players on their own merit, I like Boozer at least as much in spite of him being shorter than Bosh. But its not like that matters since Bosh doesnt want to play center.

This whole charade kind of made me glad things worked out this way. I want guys on my team that I actually like and Bosh is a big flake. I think Boozer gets it and I feel he's more competitive than Bosh. Boozer fits in better with our young guys who step up in games that matter most. Look at Boozers play off stats. The guy does well when theres pressure. And I think Boozer is a smart guy who will lead where appropriate. I dont think he's going to insist on being the face of the team. Again, he seems to get it in this regard. To be a good leader you have to be willing to also follow and I think he gets that.

But I like that they also valued how he can pass. That makes 3 of our starters who are capable passers, with 2 of them being low post players.

Im really starting to like the make up of our team. Rose, Noah, Boozer value winning above all else. We just need the right shooter(s) and we'd have a chance against anyone.

Last year we led the league in rebounding and got THAT much better by adding Boozer. If you can pass and rebound, you have a really strong chance to win a lot of games against anyone. Again, we just need a couple of shooters and situational defenders.

Completely agree Lex. Health is going to be huge though with Boozer and Noah. We need guys to stretch well and get their treatments around the clock.

But i really do like the part about how well he plays under pressure, just like i said in the OP and thats goes right with Rose and Noah.

I hope that Deng, Taj and Noah get in the weight room and add some more bulk. We may not be the biggest team in the league like the Lakers but we've got guys who gobble up boards.

Another thing I like about Boozer is that he kind of uses width to create space. Ive seen him numerous times seal off his defender when receiving a pass dropped into the space he created and he has such nice hands to catch it and put it up. Certain parts of his game are really smooth.

True about health...but the cool thing is that we still have Gibson as depth.

also, he can finish with either hand very well, i bet he could teach noah some things or two. also i bet taj will learn some nice post moves from him. us the bulls will have the best rebounding team in the nba once again. taj coming off the bench is going to be big.

And interestingly enough, this looks like its going to be the achilles heel of the Miami Heat. We may run into a little bit of a problem against LA with their length (but you cant assume that, in our two games against them last year, we had more rebounds once and and they had more the other time) but LA doesnt really have anyone who can match up with Rose...and dont even say Kobe. I used to think LA might be able to put Kobe on Rose and then I saw a youtube video and Kobe was giving him enormous space because he was so scared of getting beat. Kobe was guarding him like he knew he wasnt quick enough against Rose.

I dont know if youre serious but I used to think Kobe could match up until I saw Kobe giving him 10 feet-12 feet.

i was semi joking

i know kobe is a good perimeter defender

but kobe isnt the guy to defend lightning quick PGs like Rose

and as you said give up space for rose to create
