Boozer says he and Noah 'playing great' - Chicago Bulls Blog - ESPN Chicago

I thought this article was interesting. Check out the difference in Boozer's outlook vs. Noah's.

Boozer excerpt:

"We've been playing great this season," Boozer said. "I know a lot of ya'll for some reason have been [putting us] under the microscope, but I thought we've been playing great. Our record shows it. Our defense shows it. [We're] playing great defense this season together, and we're sharing the ball good offensively and we're making the right plays. And we're having fun."

Now check out Noah's comment:

"The ball movement was really good," Noah noted as the biggest difference. "And the floor spacing was better. And we feel like we still have a lot of work to do. But I guess the ball was coming our way. But I think that sometimes people get caught up in numbers. It's about winning. And at the end of the day, I feel like I can do better and I'm sure Booz feels the same way."

Notice how Noah's comments acknowledge room for improvement while Boozer's comments are rooted in denial.

We arent even 10 games into the season numbers will most likely change.... You could make the argument that they could get worse but I think they will get better

You seem surprised he's bad. He's been declining for about 2 years now.

On top of that..it's notlike he's missing shots and that's why. It's physical tools leaving him. Those generally don't come back.

Has anyone else got the impression that Boozer & Noah barely get along well? lol

I kind of get that. But I might be projecting. If I had to accumulate fouls because Boozer is routinely letting his man get by, I know I'd question how good of a teammate he is. The other thing is that, Rose/Noah/Deng are kind of the nucleus that made the Bulls an attractive team. So, imagine if you're Noah and you see the club pay this guy all this money to be selfish.

I could be wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Noah isn't Boozer's biggest fan.

So, then you see it the similar to me then. Sometimes I wonder if any of those guys really care he's there...until to has a decent game. Even then you gotta wonder. :smug2:

I definitely acknowledge it as a distinct possibility. As I said, if it were me, I'd probably feel that way. Not everyone is the same though, so it's really hard to know. But I don't think you're wrong for considering this.

We all know Boozer's got a fairly big ego, I can't really imagine the other guys liking that very much, the rest of the team is pretty damn humble. If Boozer had never come to Chicago, I actually kinda see him as one of the guys Noah would butt heads with when we played his team.

That being said, guys like Rose, Deng, Gibson, Korver, Watson, etc...your right they are not about that kinda b.s. ego trips. I wouldn't hold it back from Rip....but since he is very new plus he likes where he stands with the team I doubt he would ever have the nerve to do that.

Boozer & Noah could eventually clash....all just speculation of course.

We all know he has ego problems? Since when? He's never thrown any teammate under the bus, here or in Utah, is always positive despite almost every single fan & sportswriter in this town blaming ALL the teams ill on him, & has never once complained about being benched at any particular time. In fact, all evidence points to him being a great teammate & not a ego-manical asshat. Does he sound a little delusional with his comments? Maybe so, but he does have a point. We are winning & that's really all that matters.

And the media is making a HUGE deal out of this. Everyone needs to chill the F out. It is way too early to be pushing any panic buttons.

That is not the case at all. Watch the tape. Noah gets fouls because NOAH FOULS ALOT. It has nothing to do with Boozer.

Selfish? I just don't get some of these comments. I'm not the biggest Boozer fan in the world but everyone here treats him like he's Robert "Tractor" Traylor out on the court. Boozer is not selfish. Where is that even coming from? Does he hog the ball everytime he gets it? Does he constantly yell at teammates to get him the ball? Is he throwing balls at his own basket to try & record a trip-dub? People need to stop reading so much into this stuff.

I have said this before, and it's as far as I'll go for defending Noah. But Jo has to stop playing street ball in transition, he is sloppy as hell right now.

Noah has to cover a lot of defensive area when Boozer is on the floor. Asik has been running into the same problem when he is with Boozer. They both get put into situations where they are covering a huge lane, and end up with stupid fouls early on. I don't think an old dog will learn new tricks, in Boozer. So don't expect him to magically start playing defense, and no, I don't mean play just ENOUGH defense to keep critics off his back and stat pad a few blocks and steals.

Oh you're wrong. Understand that, if this type of thing happens early enough in the first or second half, he's suddenly in foul trouble and on the bench. It doesn't have to be a majority of his fouls to be too much.

So stop with you apologist bullshit and get your head out of the sand. He's soft and then he actually benefits statistically from being soft while others have to pay for his sins. Even if Boozers crappy defense doesn't lead to fouls, it requires a series of rotations by other players. And, lets face it, it happens with Boozer more than most. Most of these instances boil down to effort/desire. This is how/why it's selfish.

I stand by what I said because it's true. If you don't like it, too bad.

Boozer not good on D=selfish. Got it. Guess Korver is a selfish bastard too.

You seem like the one with your head in the sand. How about you stop blaming everything that goes wrong on 1 player? Noah picks up stupid fouls in 1-on-1 all the time, not covering for Boozer. Christ, did anyone watch the last game? Boozer was rotating fine. He was covering his spots like he's supposed to. He's not great on D, I know that, I get that, everyone does. But you make it out like the second he steps on the floor he just funnels everything to Noah, which is so far from the truth.

And I'm not apologizing for anyone. Everyone on here hates Boozer. I don't & I'm in the smallest of minorities. I'm not in love with the guy, but every break down on D, every Noah foul, & every lull in the offense is not his fault. Thinking so is completely ignorant.

Noah seems like a hard worker actually going out of his way to improve. Boozer seems content.
