I bought a 69 Charger RT 440 from Mecum auction they had at Volo . I tried buying the car before it went through the auction but the two guys who owned the car did not want to take a check. Mecum said that i can use a check if i was hi bidder but that they would hold the title to the car until my checked cleared. I was the high bidder on the Charger and got the car for $ 2,000.00 less than i offered the guys for it the night before. They were surprised and pissed when they found out i got the car . I also found the broadcast sheet on that car under the back seat. I told the one guy that shortly after and he said he thought the other guy went to look for it . They owned a little Mopar shop somewhere in central Illinois.

Agree. My 74 EC 454/4speed was a beast.

My favorite car i ever owned and wish i still had was a 65 mustang fastback with a chrome straight axle. It was black with purple tint windows. I found it at a corvette dealer there was in Antioch. The engine was froze, we poured transmission fluid in the cylinders and freed it up. It was a drag car , had a 383 mopar engine in it. A cop pulled us over when we were pulling it home with my dads truck. The cop didnt give me a ticket but he was disgusted that the Mustang wasnt in original condition. The looks that car got when i drove it down the road was priceless. The front end sitting hi, showing that chrome straight axle, being all black with the purple windows. I would give my left arm if i could get that car back.

I use to take that Charger to car shows and always heard mine wasnt a real charger Rt because it didnt have the rear sticker that wrapped around the rear deck lid. I would whip out the broadcast sheet and show them the rear sticker delete option. Shut them up real quick

My first car was a 65 Mustang (gray with black vinyl top) that I purchased in 1972. Loved the car but it was a total piece of shit that was always in the shop

When I was purchasing the Mustang for $700 and had the chance to purchase a 62 Vette for $1200. Couldnt afford the difference in price

Love the front end of a 62 Vette. You should have borrowed the money. I'm sure you know what the value of that car is today.

Back then the 62 Vette was just considered a cool car not a classic. Also I ws a senior in HS and having to pay every penny of my college costs, there was no money
