I came across a viral video where 2 bounty hunters entered a Nissan dealership to arrest a man who skipped bail. It went horribly wrong and all 3 died. That got me thinking about how I never understood the profession. Are they legally allowed to arrest citizens? Why are bounty hunters allowed to pull a gun on people when the situation is not self defense? The fact that they can enter a business armed and ready to use their firearm is absolutely baffling to me.

In the video, the 2 bounty hunters enter a business filled with customers. They approach the guy who skipped bail with their guns drawn. As they go to handcuff the bail skipper, he draws a gun from his waist band. The guy actually drops his gun, and in this moment actual police officers would use deadly force. But the 2 bounty hunters instead try to wrestle the suspect to the ground. I think this is either because these guys just don't have it in them to use deadly force, or they don't get paid if they kill the guy. The suspect is able to retrieve his gun, and that is when all 3 fire their weapons. The bail jumper actually got the first shot off. 20 shots were fired, and the bail jumper as well as the two bounty hunters died.

Again, i am shocked that guys other than well trained police have the license to arrest/kill in situations other than self defense. Here is the video of the incident. ***NSFW***

I also read a recent story where a group of 7 bounty hunters chased a group of guys in a car, and the guy they were after wasn't any of them. They shot and killed one and are now all charged with murder.

I think the important question is, who else needed a gun in order for this tragedy to have been avoided?

What tragedy?

The question you should be asking is who needed to be properly trained in how and when to use their firearm.

He was a cop and good at his job. But he committed the ultimate sin and testified against other cops that gone bad. Cops that tried to kill him, but got the woman he loved instead. Framed for murder, he prowls the badlands.

lol......just for fun I went to the Renegade wiki page, and here is the series overview:

A typical episode might involve an attractive woman coming to the Sixkiller's organization needing to rescue her equally attractive sister from her sleazy drug dealer boyfriend. Often these boyfriends would have some kind of hobby like racing horses, or cars, or speedboats, which would allow Reno to go to work undercover, usually as a mechanic at first, but often having to fill-in to a more important role, like a driver, where he would inevitably excel. This would allow Reno to gain the confidence of the evil boyfriend, but he was usually found out at some inopportune moment, leading to some kind of imprisonment that he would escape from either on his own, or with the help of the other Sixkiller members. After saving the day, Reno was often forced to turn down the grateful advances of the attractive women that he had helped out of loyalty to his deceased wife.

Yeah, it was a rinse-repeat show for sure. Stephen Cannell is the only reason to watch it IMO.

But there were a few episodes that could have had one twist, and made for a truly great series. They didn't have the balls to do it. Like when his bounty was the trained assassin, and he tried to convince Reno to take over his business.

Good riddance. Imagine if one of the by standers had died because the morons were reenacting the shootout at the OK Corral.

Bail officer just acquitted of murder. Apparently, this was self defense, shooting dude in the back while he’s bent halfway out a window.

Carey testified she shot Williams in self-defense as she and her son attempted to take Williams back into custody. She told jurors she was afraid Williams was going to shoot her son and that he tried to grab her gun before fleeing out her office window.

“I was afraid he was going to shoot my son,” Carey told the Payne County jury, The Oklahoman reported. “I felt like we were going to be killed. … I’ve never been that scared before.”

Why is it allowed to outsource bail on fucking non police people in the first place. As if the police were not allready unqualified, they allow shitty unqualified people to play police

Bounty hunters are basically a vestigial organ of the English and US justice systems, kind of like how we still have sheriffs even though municipalities maintain their own police forces.
