Stan Bowman would like to deal again

General manager Stan Bowman, who traded for winger Michael Frolik on Wednesday, said the Chicago Blackhawks are not in the market for a center "unless one comes our way," but he is looking for defense.

"We're trying to find a defenseman that can be a penalty-killing type," Bowman said Friday before the Hawks play the Dallas Stars. "Right now we're using our top guys a lot. In a perfect world we could get a guy to come in and do that."

While the Hawks continue to be in a salary cap crunch, Bowman said they could pick up a player who is signed past this season.

Then who's the odd man out? Boynton or Hendry?

Bowman has been consistent with what he has said in the past...

Sharp, Hammer are both still here like he said they would be

In the Seab's thread that's why I said he had a good record, not perfect...Bowman did at one time say Niemi wasn't going anywhere.

Look at Ottawa...they sound as if they're going to be rebuilding.

For all we know Bowman could be trying to pull Bergeron, or Krejcl as a center and put Frolik on the wing. Not saying they will or should trade Seabs, but if he is in the talks I expect more in return than Stuart and a 1st

true, however that was during FA so it was Niemi's choice, not Bowman's...Niemi wanted money

Seabrook is a RFA and it's not the offseason YET, so the ball is entirely in Bowman's court

My point is that Bowman has a good track record like iago said...I'm basing it off of Bowman's record since that is who we are dealing with

Been a GM for only 2 years much

technically not a full two seasons, so since he has this 1.5 years in the hawkhead office, everything he says is golden because of a couple of deals he said that came true. please stop being so naive.

do you hear what your saying?

only 1.5 years, this is the only evidence to base it off of, so until he is wrong, his track record is basically clean

ya, ya I know:
