We're also close to signing Bickell to a multi year contract.

Don't flip out. It's a cheap extension. (when it happens)

D-man Nick Boynton is considering an offer to return to the Chicago Blackhawks. While an offer to return to Chicago is on the table Boynton is also strongly considering retirement.

The Blackhawks are closing in on re-signing 24 year old Bryan Bickell to a multi-year contract.

Smart moves. Boynton is a good 3rd-pairing type. And Im a big Bickell fan.

I think it is a smart move; Boynton isn't the guy he was a few years ago but he is a decent player for the level he plays -however I can see where he'd be weighing retirement as he may feel that he doesn't really have anything more he can accomplish in the NHL.

Anything to push Scott and Cullimore further down the depth chart. I like the Scott signing -gives some flexibility with the cap, but I never said I thought he'd be a regular player -probably sitting out more games than he dresses for and probably on the Rockford shuttle.

I wouldnt mind a Lalonde-Boynton third pairing or even Hendry-LaLonde third pairing with Scott, boynton as our 7th/8th defenseman

Bickell I saw making the team ever since he got the playing time last year...im happy about this

Glad to see a deal close for Bickell, had some good moments last year and adding him having size is what they clearly were expecting on the team after trading Buff and Ladd.

Boyton would be nice. Have a 3rd line mix of Boyton with Lalonde and Scott or whoever else perhaps moving in and out of AHL or scratch list.

Sounds all good to me.

Boynton really played well in the Cup Finals against Philly. Certainly won't be playing all 82 games, but when called upon, he can get the job done.

Nah Sharp knew instantly -and maybe even before Kane if you rewatch the video. Sharp was right behind Kane and a bit to his right iirc. At about the spot where you'd be were you going to try to get in to position for a centering pass.

Boynton's the only man who got no love from the media about clearly knowing off the bat.... or Kane, I like how he tries to go up and celebrate and Kane blew right past him, I'm watching watching the game reair on CSN right now. Only 1st period ^^

No news they accepted yet, It would be well out there but I've heard nothing on the Boynton thing at all just all people probably re-reporting the source that the Bickell multy year deal is close.
