New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady laughed at one play's success against the Chicago Bears - ESPN Chicago

CHICAGO -- While Chicago Bears fans were hoping Sunday's inclement weather would negatively affect Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback actually found a moment of levity at the end of the first half.

Brady couldn't believe what he was seeing when he found Deion Branch on a 59-yard touchdown pass that boosted the Patriots' lead to 33-0 at the half. New England went on to win 36-7 at Soldier Field.

"We kept talking ... before the game, if we had an opportunity and they were in a Cover 2 look, we wanted to try to get [tight end Rob Gronkowski] up the seam, and then the outside receiver up the sideline," Brady said Monday during his weekly interview on Boston sports radio station WEEI. "And I looked at the safety [Major Wright], and he was backing straight up. He wasn't wide at all. I kind of looked at him and just gave him a little pump to kind of hold him, and to hold the corner [Charles Tillman] a little bit, and Deion raced by him. And I threw it out there. Deion made a hell of a catch and run.

"I was almost laughing. I couldn't believe it."

Wright, a rookie, had deep responsibility.

"It was me just being flat-footed reading, and me playing off Brady," Wright said. "He looked one way and went the other. Especially with seven seconds left, at the end of the half, I need to get a little deeper.

"It's just me. I got to get back and get there. That's it."

According to ESPNBoston.com, Branch said the sideline was yelling for Brady to take a knee and let the half run out. But Brady had other ideas, and he had the last laugh.

I loved his explanation...completely forgetting the fact that he had about 4 days to release the ball...I hope we'll someday know what its like to have an offensive line.

You say dynasty...I say the team is peaking too early...They are well run, no-doubt..but it's so hard to win the big game consistently.

well, I'm not gonna tell you you're wrong cause that is a very good point. But, unless we see them get blown out the way they did to us, they can afford to slip a bit. The rest of their schedule's relatively easy, except for the Packers. And they've clinched ( home field throughout??? ) the playoffs already. But I get your point, even though I think they're gonna continue to be a very tough team to beat in the playoffs...in fact THE team to beat.

“If you want to look at specifics, “Arkush said. “The one thing, I know we talked about [last week], and I really think that it’s the starting point to analyzing the game. That was the best offensive line they’ve seen all year. It’s probably the best offensive line they will see this year.”

The differences in the offensive lines reflect the obvious differences in the two offenses.

“The New England offense does whatever they want. The Chicago Bears offense does what it can scheme and what it can get away with, in spite of it’s offensive line,” Arkush said. “There’s a lot of differences between these two teams, but to me that’s that’s clearly the biggest difference.”

The Pats can do whatever they want because they don't make mistakes, unlike the Bears. I think we need to make an offering to them. BDM is a virgin, I'm just saying.

I was talking to my friend Mud on Patriots Team. He doesn't like the Patriots because he thinks cheating team in NFL. He had made comment that Patriots don't blame their loss on their injuries and quarterback. Patriots has failed as whole team when they lose a game.

Totally, they had backups playing great in that game. I think they value brains. They like players that can follow instructions and pick up what the coaches show them.
