Seriously? Cut Hester and take this kid. He would make this OL more formidable, with a Cooper draft you have an overhaul like no other. This decision should be easy. Yes, Hester could still have that kickoff return waiting to happen opportunity, but this move is for the future. Unless Emery is waiting for the draft, or sticking to his "no FA G" spiel, I am not buying it. Too good to pass up IMO, unless you expect James Brown, possibly Louis, or Carimi at OG, with an aging Garza. I say screw that.

Hester has won more games here than most QB's, but he is no longer an offensive player, so his value is diminished. Plus, he wants to retire :p

Hell even Eric Winston is still available. His value, along with Moore's is dropping immensely.

I really do think that Hester will get traded by draft day.

Want him. Upgrade at RG and still think he has a couple good years left. Would be a great way to cap free agency.

You don't know Emery hasn't talked to them. Maybe they denied Chicago and are holding out for more $ or guaranteed $ after a camp injury or something. Who knows. I can tell you one thing about Emery, no stone will be unturned.

Yep, whatever happens I have no doubt every possible scenario will be explored by Emery. Not saying he's perfect, but he's as thourough as they come and always has a plan.

I'd love that, but you could still trade Hester after the signing the guy.

To another poster. I think you make a relevant point. Perhaps these OL are waiting until after the draft to sign on with a team that did not manage to upgrade their OL enough via draft. It's just crazy. They are out there for the pickings. Hell, release Webb, Garza, and Carimi and get me Winston and Moore. Draft a C and Cutler can do cartwheels.

Wow, I hadn't realized this! Teams must be really scared off of him and that's understandable, but he was a force on that right side last year!

Those moobs dominated last year! I'd take him over anything that's gonna compete on the right side over here.

Ditto. He can shake while he is running over defenders

This. I'm convinced that Emery is like Tyler Durden in that he never sleeps.
"I hear all kinds of things. Supposedly he was born in a mental institution, and he sleeps only one hour a night. He's a great man, do you know about Phil Emery?"

It will be interesting when they have their first ota in about a week or so and the coaches get to work with the players firsy hand. Might be the time they make more moves or cuts.

What did he do the first 4 years in the league? The guy decides to play in a contract year? No thanks

Moore would be an exceptional pick up for the Bears.

This slow market plays into our budget conscious approach.

I hope I happens he played at Illinois and is from Indiana so hopefully he gives us a discount.
