Interesting take on it.

The only thing I will point out is that Saad CANNOT play in the AHL this year. It is NHL or Juniors - and it looks like it will eventually be Juniors. Carcillo is set to come back and Stalberg/Smith should be back from injuries soon. No reason to waste a year of Saad's ELC.

Oh, that makes sense. I didn't know the details of how ELC's work, thanks for the info. :)

The FHL,SPHL don't really have affiliates above the ECHL level because the guys who play there are 1) Old 2) didn't make any team 3) Goons

Ya, IK, but I felt that before saying he skipped AA (ECHL), I'd have to mention the A-level.

It's hard to tell right now. Saad will get his cup of coffee, and probably go back to juniors. When he has a full season and has ROTY votes, then he may be comparable. But the fact is this, Saad is a good young player on a great Hawks team. Castro is a great player on a team that's in shambles.
It would be a better comparison if Saad was around during the ABC years.

I think too many fans have the cart before the horse when it comes to Saad. He had a very good camp, and proved his worth briefly in playing with the big boys. If he begins showing up in stats column, and his line becomes extremely effective, your argument becomes very valid.

Sadd is a young player who played good in the preseason and got a shot early in the season for now... that's not a close comparison at all..

If anything Castro is the Cubs Patrick Kane... unfortunately for Cubs fans there isn't a whole lot of other talent around yet.

Saad's obviously going back to the Juniors. He's a good young player but he doesn't have a place on Madison if there aren't injuries. I wasn't surprised he was up considering his camp and our situation, but I about shit a kidney when I heard he was starting the season on the one line.

Dont really get the comparison, but whatever....

Once stalberg and smith come back, saad will be gone (unless he goes on one hell of a hot streak)

I agree, especially on a pre-season performance
