From a post earlier in the year - How many still wouldn't take Braun over Starlin?
Lol

Congratulations Ryan!

Nraun doesn't exist, how could you take him over Castro.

And yes, I'd still take Castro with everything (salary, future production, years under team control, position, age, etc.) considered.

Wut

Ryan Braun may play shitty defense but he's a much much better offensive player than Castro right now. If they offered a straight up trade today, I'd definitely take Braun over Castro.

I think Braun benefitted from the whole "guy on a winning team" thing this season, otherwise Matt Kemp was superb and should've won the MVP. Both were deserving but I think Kemp deserved it more.

My decision isn't about right now, that's why I referenced future, age, cheap contract, team control, etc.

Kemp deserved it way more than Braun. Just shows that the writers usually are biased towards team success when it comes to MVP.

We don't have enough information right now to project how well Castro will do. We only have a lot of hope in a young kid who can't take a walk but still hits for a high average.

Based on what we know now, you absolutely take Ryan Braun over Starlin Castro. This might change in the future though. Naturally since the Cubs aren't contending now there's no reason to pay for Braun, but if they were, you definitely take that head-to-head trade

Ya, that's why I said salary was being considered... I assumed the context was in the Cubs current situation?

lol youre fucking stupid. castro hasn't played anywhere near MVP-type production in his career. He's a scrub compared to Braun.

Why is NL MVP discussion in the White Sox forum?

IDK man, Cubs forum doesnt seem to have a Braun thread. Plus, baseball chatters pretty slim pickings this time a year.

It doesn't help the the Sox are rumored to be trading Danks, Floyd, and/or Quentin and don't seem like they'll get anybody can help this upcoming season. :sadnana:

im fine w/cutting payroll. Thatll be hard w/Rios. What we need is a Jose Reyes type a player, not sayin theyll get him, but hey. Someone to inject some life to the team, on the bases especially. Like a young/doesnt suck Juan Pierre type a dude.

Pitching, I think we might need to add arms.

1. J. Danks
2. G. Floyd
3. P. Humber
4. C. Sale
5. J. Peavy

Thats how we look without Buerhle..........

Read an article in the Sun-Times about Buehrle this morning. It was supposed to prove why he probably won't be back, but it kind of made me think the opposite. Still think he'll be in a White Sox uniform next year.
