So, the woman has biscuits and gravy down, here are my contributions:
Crepes (serves 1 or 2):
2 eggs
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
pinch o cinnamon
Prepare double boiler or chaffing dish (to keep them warm). Batter eggs. Miix in wet ingredients and seasonings. Stir in flour slowly. Beat till smooth. Butter a large pan (medium-high heat). Pour in crepe mix. Twist yo wrist so that mixture is evenly spread. Wait for bubbles. Flip with thin spatula. Brown. Move to warming station. Rebutter pan, repeat.
If you're lazy you can just fill them with random jams or jellies (I pick some wild raspberry every time I go to visit the family), or you can render down whatever fruit you're into with some brandy and sugar (I'll leave those recipes up to you homos).
Scotch Eggs:
X amount of eggs
X amount of loose sausage (kind is up to you!)
Flour
Egg
Bread crumbs
Seasonings
Prepare 4 stations:
Paper towels for drying the eggs
Beaten egg bowl (one whipped egg for every 3 or so you're going to make)
Bread crumbs in a paper plate
Flour and spices in a paper plate (mix liberal amounts of salt, pepper, and whatever in with the flour).
Set frier to 350. (pot with oil works fine, obviously [but temperature is important])
Put a pot or pan (whatever you have that has a lid) with 1/4 inch of water on the stove. Bring it to a low boil/high simmer.
Add eggs and cover. Lay out sausage "patties" (approximately enough to cover the egg) on plastic wrap.
Cook eggs for exactly 6 minutes (occasionally rolling them in the pot/pan to insure the yolk doesn't float to one side).
After timer goes off quickly put eggs under cold water to stop cooking process. Peel, then dry on paper towels (once cooled)
Wrap egg in sausage (if you keep your hands moistened in this step the sausage won't stick to you).
Dredge sausage wrapped egg in flour/seasoning mixture.
Dip in egg bowl.
Roll in bread crumbs.
Fry for 5 minutes.
This can all be done before hand and placed in the fridge, it just increases frying time to 6 minuted. Also, if you want some wet spicing (hot sauce or what not), you can add it to the beaten egg prior to dredging.
Yay for Frühstücken!!!
