Thinking about getting into this. My dad did it years ago. He bred discus fish and went to fish conventions. Pretty neat I’m just not sure where to start. Anyone got tips?
My best advice is to not try to put your penis inside of the fish. If that were to be leaked you could have damaging ramifications like for instance losing your president position at the prestigious fish convention association

I found a local aquarium club close. Maybe I can get on the board?

Used to have a 120 or 125 gallon fish tank back in the day but never intentionally tried to breed fish. Went with the freshwater option since I didn't have any experience with aquariums. Thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience but I haven't had mine set up in 5 years or so. Sorry that I cannot be of more help but hopefully someone else can better assist you!

I just got back from Miami Discus Fish-Con and boy let me tell you, I had a reely great time.
Met a lot of middle aged men wearing masks and talking shop about disc fish. It was quite roe-mantic.

Btw I think this thread should be relabeled ***0FISHAIL***

i live in an area where ppl get decent money fer specific pet fish. but i dont partake. when i still ate plants thought about a aquaponic system..

but i use to have a couple fish tanks when i was younger. my neighboor bred koi.. made $$$ he had like a pond/stream set up in his back yard and gave me a couple of tanks. i didnt breed any purposely, but had mollys that kept shitting out babies.. eventually they took over until i dropped a lonely betta fish in the tank for that ying yang..

did breed snails.. well i kept buying a specific plant that had them on them.. cause i had some sort of puffer fish that would eat them.

theres money in it if you know what you are doing.

my highscool biology teacher had a contract with a state.. he sold them trout every year to stock rivers.. **** made mo money growing fish than he did teaching.. his AP biology class also grew fish.. so he got paid to r&d for his home fish farm

And then eat them?

if i had that aquaponics system, then yeah i would have eaten them. Probably would have done tilapia out back n in the shed since they would have be easier to start with but i would have transitioned a garage section to test trout cause of me climate.

too bad plants trying to kill ya.. could still grow fish but id rather eat beef.. fam likes fish though,.. so could still be worth it

Hmmm **** raising chickens I want a pond where I can catch some trout for dinner. I mean I love beef too. It's my favorite, but having a sustainable source of fish in a backyard pond would be cool as hell. Then again I don't know shit about that. I fish like trout and walleye. Like river/lake white fish. I've been had bass or any of the smaller guys like blue gill or crappie.
Actually breaded and pan fried some cod tonight. Not my favorite. Kinda just learning how to cook it

my neighbour had a huge pond and man made stream with like gates flowing in to the main pond.... it wasnt an aquaponics set up, it was just for koi. wish i were more interested at the time, i could have learned from a pro. you can do this shit in an above ground pool, smaller water tanks etc.. can scale up/down to needs.

if you gotz a pond with correct yearly water temps.. stocking them full of trout you grow shouldnt be an issue. def a learning curb. probably gonna have to jack off some fish though. i remember watching a lot of videos at one point learning what i needed for an aquaponics set ups.. best pumps,, easy fish, nutrient deficiencies etc.. the lot. if you just doing fish for fish would be a tad bit easier. however, filtering the water through a veg system and getting veg as a byproduct may be beneficial to ya

some random guy from youtube. didnt watch it.. but im sure he knows something about fish.. he gotz an accent m8.
