Who said they sucked? Stop making up false shit.

Just because I hate Scott & Stalberg doesn't mean the team sucks.

The fantasy world has warped you probably beyond repair. Not only have you railed tirelessly almost every move the Hawks HAD to make because of your poor understanding of a thing called a hard cap, but also you have such unrealistic expectations for less-skilled bottom 6/bottom pairing players (Stalberg, Scott, Skille, Hendry, Turco - yah, he doesn't fit the profile I just mentioned, but you railed him nonetheless). Rarely you offer a rational thought (like you did with Leddy), but the regular blasting far overshadows these posts.

Stick to fantasy and console leagues where significant things (you know, a crazy little thing called reality) doesn't matter.

im more worried of the unknown.

will this team gel? is it 100% garaunteed?

The guys I can do without are the following: scott and pisani.

The guys who I hate seeing out there so fucking much: kopecky

Everyone talks about our depth yada yada yada........im not so sure we are actually that deep. too many unknown factors.

the PP sucks and the coaching choices of lines blow ass as well.

we are a middle of the pack team in the west and if we arent careful we could be trying to get into the playoffs this year.

remember, if 1 of our big guys goes down (kane, toews, hossa, sharp) for a length of time especially kane and toews this team is done for. the depth isnt there like alot of you think. young unproven players. but hey we have pisani and scott. lol

While no, it's not guaranteed that the team will gel, it will appear as much when our team's vets get over the hangover.

I'm with ya somewhat with Pisani and Pecker. I'm thinking Pisani is probably playing on the incorrect line as well as Pecker, as evident from the preseason and what we've seen so far in this infant regular season. But we'll probably see these lines for a wee bit longer because the season is still so young.

Personally, I like our depth at center (when Sharpie returns - which I'm assuming has coincidentally happened as I'm writing this as Pirri is on his way back to Rockford). I'm having a brainfart, who are you referring to regarding all of the praise the depth the Hawks have? I ask because I'd agree with you in terms of all of the unknown factors due to prior injuries or lack of NHL experience.

Like you said (I thought), the PP is going to suffer when one of the best PP quarterbacks in the game is hurt. While statistically 2 for 7 sounds terrific, the PP against the Avs wasn't as good as it produced.

Right now our best players aren't playing big, so I have a tough time accepting the hard criticism on our less talented players. Why am I not reading more criticism of Kane? Hjalmarsson? What have these guys done this year to avoid the cut-throat criticism that I'm seeing going towards our bottom roster guys? These criticisms directed at our bottom roster are based on half-baked expectations. Scott isn't going to bring you 27 minutes of shut-down defense on opposing top lines per game and is paid as such. How is that so difficult for some to understand?

It can be pretty well predicted, if Pisani stays healthy, what he will bring to the table. Scott is in the same situation. Ya know what you're going to get. You say you are worried about the unknown, but these signings bring far more "knowns" to the table than whatever kids you want to plug in there (not to mention, the kids are probably far more expensive). Which unrestricted free agents were available this offseason who signed either for the exact same price or less who you would have preferred?

1) We have to hope they gel
2) I agree on Scott he cannot get back in time, I would have rather seen a tough forward sign. Pisani has always been a bottom 6 guy, the guy is a defensive minded skater, why the coaching staff put him in the top 6 is beyond me.
3) I dont mind Kopecky being out there, but if hes going to be out there then he needs to be out there with guys he will produce with like he has in the past like Hossa and Sharp.
4) On the depth, from what I have seen the Icehogs have 11 of 20 something skaters that are rookies. Lots of inexperienced skaters in the system, which is kinda scary.
5) The PP shows how much we miss Campbell, he is our true PP QB and we seen that last year when he was out injuries and our PP sucked.

Mind you here,we are 2 games into the season so I don't waste my time being "concerned" about anything until i've got at least 3-4 weeks in. The one big name player I've got a gripe about has been Seabs. Discounting his goal last night, he has looked slow and almost dis-interested at times to start this season. I don't expect it to last long but up to this point, he has been a tad aggrivating.

Scott does indeed blow at playing hockey. Pisani is 4th line material and yeah... there's way too much Kopecky. I really don't get why the coaches are so high on #82. His role seems forced so far.

As for "if one of the big guys goes down", I think it's safe to add Campbell to that list. I think they miss him so much that he might actually be UNDERpaid. This team has such a phenomenal top 4 defense lineup, but take just one of them out and shit goes south real fast.

Going over to the Hawks' site a few minutes ago, one of the top stories is about the "red carpet" and I guess guys walking in to the dressing room. I know it was banner raising night and all that, and I saw a photo of Toews skating out to centre ice with the Stanley Cup.

Ok, that's all marketing bullshit. . . and there are already 29 teams out there that want to knock you off. Considering the turnover (forced by the salary cap as it was - or just turnover- it doesn't matter). If you are going to go an play up your laurels from last season ... wait let me emphasize that: last season -you are going to be right f-ed in the head when it comes to *this* season.
