I hate the White Sox.
That being said, that was a hell of a play. He essentially won every award he could possibly win w/ that play with the creation of "The Buehrle-Meter"...and rightfully so.

Congrats Mark, Congrats Sox Fans.

No surprise. I was absolutely stunned when I saw that happen live. My mind was blown.

Every other highlight play of the entire season was measured to the Mark Buehrle play standard. Crazy play.

I live in Phoenix (since '95), but I'm still a lifelong Sox fan, so I was watching that game on WGN America, at work (I work in broadcast TV so TVs are always on) and went NUTS! One of my co-workers is from Cleveland and a huge Indians fan and all he could say was, "oh, crap..." He said that a lot last season. It was very exciting to see, but the downside was, it set up some big expectations for the rest of the season. By the time June rolled around, all I kept wishing for was a huge winning streak. When we got that, expectations began to re-kindle! But being a lifelong Sox fan, I know not to start saving up for a trip back to Chicago for the play-offs... :smug2:

Still, it was a good season, with a lot of exciting moments. But none will top the scoop and snatch by Buehrle and Paulie. I can watch that over and over, with Hawk's voice ringing in my head, "Look at the play by Buehrle!!!" That and Mark's perfect game will be moments I'll remember forever. Thanks for the exciting memories, Buehrle!

When watching that live, I thought Buehrle was not even going to attempt a "throw" over to Paulie (and I am pretty sure Paulie thought the same hence the bare hand grab). Not only did he attempt it, but he had enough mustard on the "snap" to get the out! WOW!

I was at that game, as were 41,000 others, and when I saw that I thought it was gonna be a good year, not that is was a horrible year. Maybe this year we'll be able to beat the Indians.
