I live in Phoenix (since '95), but I'm still a lifelong Sox fan, so I was watching that game on WGN America, at work (I work in broadcast TV so TVs are always on) and went NUTS! One of my co-workers is from Cleveland and a huge Indians fan and all he could say was, "oh, crap..." He said that a lot last season. It was very exciting to see, but the downside was, it set up some big expectations for the rest of the season. By the time June rolled around, all I kept wishing for was a huge winning streak. When we got that, expectations began to re-kindle! But being a lifelong Sox fan, I know not to start saving up for a trip back to Chicago for the play-offs...
Still, it was a good season, with a lot of exciting moments. But none will top the scoop and snatch by Buehrle and Paulie. I can watch that over and over, with Hawk's voice ringing in my head, "Look at the play by Buehrle!!!" That and Mark's perfect game will be moments I'll remember forever. Thanks for the exciting memories, Buehrle!
