Could the Bulls actually miss the playoffs this season? I know Dunleavy is important and the East has 10 teams over 500, but miss the playoffs with this roster.....in the East. 2-10 in the East are within 2 games of each of ether. East looks like it has the same parody as the west this season. Might not at the same level, but lots of teams jumbled up.

Just a week ago the Bulls were in 2nd place. They could be out of the playoff seeding before Sat.

It's just as likely that they end up 2nd or 10th...you don't really know.

Basically 2nd seed to 10th place is a shit show in the east and no one knows what will happen if this stays the same all season. And its December. Nothing is determined yet.

Not saying it is. Would you have guessed the Bulls would be a half a game outside of the 9th seed in late December a few months ago?

No I'd had expected the East to be absolutely terrible as usual. Thus far its not.

The Bulls were 9th actually a few weeks ago, then climbed back up to 2nd before their latest losing streak.

That is kind of the point. The East looks like it may have a team over 500 miss the playoffs. When was the last time that happened (not going to look now)? I never even thought the Bulls could miss the playoffs till now. ~1/3 of the season is done. It is not like we are 3 weeks into the season.

2004-05 is the last time it happened. 42-40 Cavs were 9th in the East.

Even so there's still plenty of game left to play.

Honestly, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if the Bulls missed the playoffs. You could expect a major overhaul if that happened.

and that would put us in the lottery....granted with a less than 1% chance at the first pick....but hey they've done it before!

1.9% chance to be exact.. At 14th in the lottery you're under 1% and not going to win it.

I think only 9th has moved to #1. Maybe #11 did once as well.

Why would you expect the East to be terrible this year? I expected the exact opposite, what with Paul George coming back, Bosh coming back too with the Heat improving, & the Pistons, Celtics, & Magic all moving in the right direction. I had a feeling it would be a dogfight in the East this year and it will be all year long.

What has shocked me is how much the West has just fallen apart. Outside of the top two teams in the league (the only teams that actually look like contenders of any NBA team right now) every team has struggled badly. Oh what a difference a year makes.

It makes no difference if the Bulls make or miss the play-offs this year other than the additional money going into Reinny's wallet. As long as Gar/Pax are making decisions they aren't going anywhere.

Well, the top 2 in the West are the two best teams. The Spurs are only going to get better as the year goes on. OKC is back barring health and the Clippers will turn it on. Way to much talent and leadership. I would want to face any of the 4 in the playoffs if I am the league. Only the Cavs have a legit chance against them.
