Apparently several NBA Executives believe that the Bulls are a sleeper in the Howard sweepstakes.

Personally I'd trade anyone not named Derrick Rose to team him up with DHoward.

What’s more, the Chicago Bulls are still a sleeper for Howard, several league executives believe. “Chicago may tell Orlando to take any two players – or three – besides [Derrick] Rose,” one GM said. Howard isn’t keen on the cold weather, but the Bulls would have the best point guard-center combination since Magic and Kareem.

The Bulls have Omar Asik developing fast as a potential replacement for Joakim Noah(notes) should the Bulls include Noah in a package. Noah would have to be a part of it, but would a combination of Noah and Luol Deng(notes) or Carlos Boozer(notes) – bringing back Howard and one of those bad Orlando contracts – be enough? The Magic need a force to replace Howard, an anchor.

Discuss.

The Lakers simply don't have enough young assets to make two enticing deals. Odom and Gasol are both over 30 and can't be expected to play at superstar levels for 5+ years. Bynum is simply too injury prone and can't seem to grow up. They should've traded him away when they had the chance to maximize his value. Neither Orlando nor New Orleans would be stupid enough to take on those players unless their was a third team involved and they were able to get some additional assets or draft picks.

The same thing goes for the Knicks. If Paul or Howard leaves for the Knicks, it'll be in free agency.

The magic wanted a Bynum/Howard swap last February, and N.O. might just take whatever they can get just so they won't get left holding the bag if Paul leaves.

Theres no way that swap happens now. I cant see how any team would want an injury player who is not an anchor at center.

It's not like GM's are the smartest guys out there.

True, recalling the trade Otis Smith did for Arenas and other high salary players. But I still dont see them trading their center for Bynum. That would be asinine. Plus they wouldnt get picks that the Bulls have as well.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Minnesota United FC
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
New Orleans is still owned by the NBA, why should they be able to trade their only all-star, and devalue the team in the process?

I think it's safe to say that D12 will not be coming to Chicago anytime soon. Regardless of how great it would be I've left this story/rumor behind. He won't be a Bull because he wants to enjoy the bright lights of hollywood. We all know that's where he wants to be. Just like we all knew that Melo wanted to go to NYK.

Oh well...
