I thought it was funny but I don't think James Johnson could take Floyd Mayweather at all. I really don't know what James Johnsons' blackbelt entails.....my aunt is a black belt but I wouldn't pick her in a fight over a professional boxer.

I would pick a professional boxer over a blackbelt, fighting novice anyday.

i think his dad is champion fighter. plus he competed in some fighting competitions? But i digress, i think the argument is athletic big guy with some training versus a smaller guy with lots elite training.

Similiar to the nba, you can't teach size.

i agree with doug. JJ would murder floyd. the reach, strength, athleticism, and sheer size would be overwhelming.

I totally disagree, I think Johnson would f--- dude up! If your aunt was 6-9 and weight 250 pounds, I would think she could beat Floyd's ass too. Dude is over a foot taller and 100 pounds bigger and has been trained professionally...

I love Boxing but I love MMA more and JJ would get layed out by Floyd. Hell De La Hoya and Mosely almost layed out Shaq. JJ is a Mixed Martial Artists I think. The question should be who would win James Johnson or Cain Velasquez? Velasquez is Brock Lesnar's next opponent for those that don't know. And he's a beast. Both are roughly around the same size but Cain would put JJ to sleep probably within a minute.

Johnson is a sixth degree black belt in mixed martial arts. As far as boxing goes, Johnson would classify as a Super Heavyweight, Shannon Briggs and Jameel McCline size heavyweight. I don't know what makes you think a guy who has fought at 150 lbs can just go around knocking out 250 lb. men who are a foot taller than him at a whim like that. Why do you think they have weight classes in boxing?

If it was so easy, Floyd would be fighting the Kitchkos. You think he cal lay one of those guys out? I don't think so...

Well I think he can pull off a decision against JJ. Maybe not knock em out. Maybe though idk. I would like to see JJ knock out Lebron lol

James Johnson's father was a 7 time world champion, 6th degree black belt, and Johnson has was undefeated in kickboxing tournaments and won an MMA fight. He's practiced martial arts since birth.

Regardless of that, in a street fight, boxing is the most worthless fighting discipline of all disciplines. They have no practicing in defending any attacks from the feet or any grappling maneuvers, low blows, etc.. Johnson's got a massive, massive physical advantage, and he's used to defending all types of attacks as well as delivering them and has actually trained for street fighting type events given that he's been in an MMA fight (and won).

I believe Johnson's father is a 6th degree black belt and Johnson is a 2nd degree black belt. The links on it are confusing. Though if Johnson were actually a 6th degree black belt, than Mayweather would be out in less than 30 seconds.

The site automatically posts my articles by picking them up via RSS. Sometimes that can be annoying, especially if a thread already exists on a topic, but on the other hand, it can help keep discussion going since I write something at least once a day.

To illustrate this, just try and punch a foot above your head with force. The change in angle makes it really difficult. It also removes a punch like an uppercut from your repertoire all together.

no contest. JJ would handle floyd in a heartbeat. ask james toney how many punches he managed to throw against randy couture. and there was no real size advantage there, not as big as JJ vs floyd
