Can anyone explain why boston would own the tie breaker if we beat them later on this year? Wouldn't we be 2-2 with boston?

Better record against playoff teams or something like that. NBA.com has a list of all tiebreakers on the standings page at the bottom of it.

I think that's if they're in the same division.
