With the new collective bargaining agreement around the corner, an agreement most experts feel will have the players absolutely crushed at the end, there comes a fairly big risk in trading for Carmelo Anthony even if the details are worked out and he signs an extension.

As much as I love his scoring...his attitude has been wrong from the get-go. Not sure it would work out for us, anyway.

Doesn't matter, he'll sign w/ the heat for the vet. min anyway.

Yes, he is a top 10 player and a superstar. He is also a winner and never missed the playoffs in his career. If we got him for Deng, Gibson and firsts, we are instantly contenders.

I have always been critical of Carmelo Anthony. James and Wade were always the top players in that 03 draft class... But Carmelo might be the most skilled out of all 3 of them. And he has really picked up his defense 2 seasons ago. He's, hands-down a top 10 player in the NBA. Is he worth $20M? That's a tough call... but who really is worth that much? Not many players...

I'd say he is worth it. He is closer to the top 5 than the rest of the top 10. I'd probably take him 6 or 7. He gives us a legit go to guy and will hit the boards just as much as deng.

In the end though. I don't think Denver would bite anyway unless Melo really wanted to come here. Which it doesn't sound like anyway. Noah and Deng are nice but Griffen or Favors are probably worth more and the clips can give much more cap relief. It really depends if Denver wants to rebuild or not. If they don't Deng and Noah are a great fit for them but if not they will have cap room next year and can get value for billups too. I'd rebuild if i were then.

That's a good point...and to add to it...if the Nugs are willing to trade Carmelo, they're starting over...complete rebuilding mode.

Its interesting how the nets are in the running. Unless its Harris and Favors as the principles, I don't see how they can financially work a deal since they spent all their cap space and can't trade those guys yet.

From Conference Finals two years ago to rebuild mode...That sucks.

He's probably not worth 20 million, but I'd probably pay him that to get him because that makes us a legit contender. With Melo, we could go up against the Lakers and the Heat and be pretty darn close in terms of matchups (at least more so than before). This, of course, assumes that he doesn't have any attitude problems.

It'd cost and Deng and Noah at the least. Maybe a first too.

What is the rumored LA deal? I have a hard time imagining them trading Griffen. Their other assests don't exactly stand out.

As much as I can be a fan of Melo.....if he costs us a good starter or role player that is a major need for the future...forget him

A Eric Gordon, Twolves 2012 pick and Aminu seems like pretty good deal
