Chicago native Patrick Beverley, waived Monday by the Miami Heat despite possessing a two-year guaranteed contract, is getting strong consideration from the Chicago Bulls, according to NBA front-office sources.
The Bulls can't sign Beverley before he clears waivers on Thursday, unless they are willing to absorb his Heat contract -- and it's very unlikely that they would take on a two-year deal worth $1.3 million. But they appear increasingly likely to add Beverley as a third point guard once he does clear.
"Looking that way," said one source close to the situation.
The Bulls released two point guards -- John Lucas and Kyle Weaver -- in their final cuts, and they have considered bringing Lucas back on a non-guaranteed deal, sources said.

Thoughts? I have not see him play, so I don't know if this would be good or bad. He would only be a 3rd pg and making no money. He probably wouldn't even play. So, it's not really a big deal.
