This is excellent. Really happy they were able to land a vet coach from a winning organization to pair with Hoiberg. I hope he knows how to say yes to GarPax though.

I really like this hire. Boylen comes from the Poppovich "tree" who has lots of experience in both the NCAA and NBA. He is a defensive, three point shooting-oriented coach who will help Hoiberg on both ends of the floor.

Now, I hope Hoiberg can keep either Griffin or Pinckney.

I did a double take. At first I thought we hired Jim Boylan again.
I did the exact same thing.

I like the hire though. Hoiberg aside, there's probably only good that can come from getting someone who was a top assistant on Pop's staff. Him being a "3&D" coach may help a lot of players improve in one area or the other. Maybe he can turn Snell into Danny Green lol

loving this coaching staff

they did what i wanted...brought in Hoiberg and paired him up with a veteran defensive assistant

Boylen is also a shooting coach

First thing he needs to do is get in J. Noah's ear and talk free throw shooting.

There will be a housecleaning of the Thibs guys. Paxson and Garfield Goose will want a bloodletting. Of course, Hinrich will remain because Paxson sees himself in Capt. Kirk except Kirk still has hair.

Guy was an assistant on the 94 and 95 Houston Rockets title teams as well.

Really, Jo just needs his confidence back. Historically, he's not that bad of a FT shooter so I don't think it'll take a lot of work to get him back up to 75%. Unless he pulls an Iggy and just drops to one of the worst free throw shooters in the league in a season...but at that point Boylen has already failed.
